• In general, the principles of “fair use” that govern the quantity and type of materials used in face to face classes also apply to online and blended classes. Use the calendar restrictions available in most online teaching programs to mimic the durational aspect of classroom access.

• To avoid infringement claims, it is always best practice to secure permission from the copyright owner.
