Living a Beast Life

"Man, know thyself" was written at the entry ways of the Egyptian MysterySchools. The Egyptians understood that knowledge of self was the most valuableknowledge one could possess. Its opposite, ignorance of self, was the source of allthe ills in the world.

The English word self is "nafs" in rabic. It means "soul." In Sanskrit, the trueself is called "atman." The Egyptians called it the !a. To know oneself is to knowones true soul #atman or !a$.

The soul has seven divisions that the Egyptians called the khab, khaibit, ka, ab,shekem, khu and !a.

The khab is the gross physical body. The khaibit is the molecular body thatssometimes called the animal spirit. It is this gooey type of substance % syboli&edas "clay" in some scriptures % thats responsive to astrological influences.

The ka is the personality or pattern of habitual emotional, physical and mentaltraits people mistake for their selves. The ka is indicated by our rising signs inastrology and is sometimes called the astral double.

The b is mans moral #mental$ self. It is meant to dominate the khaibit animalspirit.

The shekem is the potential omnipotence within human beings. Shekem powerhas to be cultivated via spiritual initiation.

The khu is the latent omniscient faculty within people. It has to be called out ofdormancy via spiritual initiation.

The !a #atem, atman$ is the world soul, the one being who permeates alle'istence. This is where (od resides in #wo$man) "I am in my father and myfather is in me." *hen consciousness reaches the !a plane one e'periences unity with (od and all things. The !a e'perience is a prere+uisete for unity and peacein the world. ntil one has e'perienced oneness #Tauhid$, then unity is but aslogan or a theory. fter the !a e'perience, unity becomes the reality thatunderlies all illusory separateness and division.

The fusion of -a, b and !a is symboli&ed by the meccan -aaba.

If a person is unaware of the seven spirit divisions, their function and natures, heis lacking a knowledge of self.

The onorable Eli/ah Muhammad taught that a savage was a person whos lost

 

the knowledge of his self and was "living a beast life."
