HER WORSHIP THE HONOURABLE MAYOR HAZEL McCALLION

It has been said that, “The arts are the best insurance policy a city can take on itself.” The Living Arts Centre is to be

commended for providing many wonderful programs and outstanding performances and doing its part to help promote arts

and culture in our community, which help to enhance the quality of life enjoyed by our citizens. This would not be possible

without the outstanding support of its hundreds of volunteers and community supporters all of whom share the Centre’s

vision that arts and culture are an integral part of our city’s identity. As Mayor of the City of Mississauga, I would like to

congratulate the Living Arts Centre on its 15th Anniversary. The Living Arts Centre has helped Mississauga flourish and I

wish the Centre continued success for the future in providing quality entertainment to our great city.

Mayor Hazel McCallion, C.M., LLD.

MESSAGE FROM THE CEO ~ MR. RON LENYK

Welcome to your Living Arts Centre. As CEO of this dynamic centre, this year, I am over the moon as we celebrate our 15th anniversaryof providing exceptional entertainment and arts services for our community.

The Centre has adopted a new mission statement – ARTS for Life – and the intention is to become the conduit for connecting

people through performance and creativity.

The Living Arts Centre presents programming for all ages ranging from emerging artists to the biggest names in arts and

entertainment – from Broadway to comedy and ballet to world music. Presentations are held in Hammerson Hall and the intimate RBC

Theatre. We will be introducing a Mississauga series, featuring local performers and artists.

Your Centre has been extremely active and has earned its title of “busiest arts centre in North America”. In particular, we are proud of

our arts education contribution through school networks, our arts camps and workshops within our studios. In fact, many of our programs

are full.

Through the assistance of the community, we intend to expand our programs specifically for younger and older adults.

With the assistance of a City of Mississauga grant, we will be taking an LAC summer outreach program to Mississauga neighbourhoods.

We are also tremendously energized about our first Arts for Life Gala in honour of Hazel McCallion to be held November 17, 2012.

Watch for updates as the year progresses.

From a performances standpoint, I am proud of the great line-up we are presenting in our 2012-2013 season and I would be de-

lighted to welcome each and every one of you to your Living Arts Centre.
