FORWARD(Or should we say Backward...)
Well, it’s finally here. After all the planning and anticipating, it’s backward we go. Right back to where we left off 40 years ago—except now we’ve got a lot more to talk about.
This is our night, a chance to rekindle old friendships and share a few decades’ worth of stories. We hope this reunion brings us closer together for an evening and keeps us together for years to come.
But “yesterday”— now that’s the true star of our show. Memories of our days at LHS. The fun, the pain. The daring deeds we share with our kids and grandkids (or hold back for the public good!). We fondly remember that wanderlust and hopefully still crave it today. I know I do. This is our night to bring back those days of fun, friendship and youth.
It took a lot of work, but we’ve actually accounted for over 90% of our class! Tonight we have over four times the attendance we had at our 30th Reunion. That’s not just because we decided to skip the reunion company and do it ourselves—it’s because you responded as passionately as we did. Ya gotta love that.
Our stage in life pulls us together too. Most of our kids are grown. We appreciate life a little bit more. Maybe now that we’re in our late 50s (except you Roger Tsien!), after all of our experiences, we just love the idea of reuniting with those who set off in life with the same great foundation.
I know it took a lot of effort for many of you to get here, and every one of us appreciates it. As fun as tonight will be, we’re already talking about plans for the 45th. Hey, what else have we got to do?
