Questionaire first meeting
Pulp & PaperPulp & Paper Plants can benefit from both Infrasound Cleaning and Steam Optimization.Therefor it is important to find out what product range to target.As a general rule: HISS in areas over 550˚ C, Infrasound in areas less than 550˚ C. But there are overlaps, see picture 1.
If you can, try to find a schematic drawing of the boiler. It is very helpful at discussions.There will nearly always be a poster on site showing the boiler. One possibility is to take a photo of it (ask for permission first) so it can be used at discussions later.In worst case use one of below schematic views during discussion.
Ask the customer to describe what kind of boiler it is:
Built Year -Size (MW heat, MW power) -Fuel (Black liquor, Green liquor etc) -Number of ECO, SCR, ESP -No of Soot blowers -Brand of Soot blowers -Brand and model of DCS (ABB etc) -At what % load is the boiler operated? At max? -
Other cleaning then soot blowing (manually, sonic etc) -How often do they clean with steam (can vary in different areas) -How long does a cleaning (steam) cycle take -How much steam is used for cleaning -Do they know ∆P and ∆T before/after cleaning -

How many planned stops per year -The reason for stopping -What area do they need to clean most often -How, how often and why do they clean ECO -How, how often and why do they clean SCR -
Have they exchanged tube bundles -Do they have problem with corrosion -How often do they need to change tubes -Do they have condensate issues? -
Temp at Superheaters -Temp at ECO -Temp at APH -Temp at SCR
