The following graphs depict the spending by Local Authorities on services for substance misuse by children and young people for 2008-11.

The data is taken from the government archive.

It is important to remember that funding in this area may come from PCTs and other sources. Therefore, we cannot be certain that the data presented here shows the complete picture of all that is being spent on young people’s substance misuse.

Nevertheless we think this is an important benchmark to show how Local Authorities have been supporting services for children and young people.

The data for 2008-9 is actual spend whilst the data for 2009-11 is the budget as reported to the government.
