A practical guide to ensuring financial sustainabilityFinancial sustainability is a top priority for councils around Australia.

This is particularly true in New South Wales with Fit for the Future reforms underway, in Victoria with the coming of rate-capping and in Tasmania with the possibility of amalgamations.

This conference will provide heads of Finance and Corporate Services along with CEO’s/GM’s and Mayors with all the information they need to ensure the future financial sustainability of their councils.

For NSW delegates it will be the last chance to get guidance on this issue before the rubber hits the road in 2016.

The Office of Local Government has developed a number of FFTF benchmarks which councils must achieve by 2020. What you need to know about setting up a Shared Services CentrePre Conference Workshop A Monday 16th November 2015, 8.30am – 11.30am * Includes refreshments

Shared Services can help councils increase efficiency and drive down costs. As a result, many councils are looking to move in this direction. Many NSW councils have included it in their FFTF Action Plans.

This workshop has been designed to assist those organisations looking to set up Shared Services Centres (SSC). Led by Brisbane City Council’s Neil Padley (20 years’ experience designing, establishing and managing SSC for some of Australia and New Zealand’s largest companies) it will answer all of your burning questions about Shared Services.

Why attend this workshop?• If you want to know more about Shared Services and how it can assist you

in achieving financial sustainability• If your organisation is looking to set up an SSC or has included it as part

of its FFTF action plan• If you’re already set up an SSC but want to learn more from one of

Australia’s leading experts

You will leave with a better understanding of:• How to create a service, rather than a transactional processing mindset• What services to include• SLA’s and pricing• Balancing standardisation v specialisation• Managing change and transition
