A lock is an item or stuff made of material like iron, aluminum or steel used for securing buildings, rooms, premises, stores and many personal and commercial properties. A person who is engaged wit designing and manufacturing of the locks is usually called as locksmith. A locksmith is a person who is a professional lock designer and mechanics that repairs locks. Locksmithing is the art of making and defeating locks.

The locks are normally supposed to have a key with them which are used to open the locks. With the time technology has changed and with this change the lock has also changed a lot.
