He was born in Hiram, son of John and Eva Wood • F1int, attended local schools and graduated from West
brook Serninaty, now Westbrook College. ln 1966, Mr. F1int retired as assistant treasurer at
Casco Bank & Trust Co. after 43 years. He began his banking career at Casco Mercantile
·. Bank, and was then transferred to Bridgton in 1929. He • became branch manager there in 1933. He returned here in 1953 as assistant treasurer.
After his retirement, he served briefly as administrator at Northern Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Bridgton.
He was a life member and past master of Oriental Lodge of Bridgton and was a member of the Society of Magna Charta Barons.
Besides his wife, Dorothy Lowd F1int of Portland, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Charlotte) DeGrasse, also of Portland

rFlint, 72, one of Maine's most active Odd Fellows, died this morning in a. Bangor hospital after a brief illness.
A past grand patriarch of the Grand Encampment of Maine, he
lwas born at Detroit, Me., April 17. ,1878, a son of William and Nancy 'Flint. He resided here since 1907 and worked as a millwright at the ,P.enobscot Chemical Fibre Company, Great Works, until retiring in August, 1946.

He was a member of Local 80, AFL; a past grand of Tarratine Lodge, Old Town; past chief patriarch of Old Town 'Encampment, IOOF: past captain of Canton Island City, Patriarch Militant: retired lieutenant colonel of Pattiarch Militant, Department of Maine; a member of Myrtle Rebekah Lodge, Old Town: ·member of Ladies Auxiliary to Canton Is-~ · land City, Old Town, and former : 1member of the Masonic Lodge of Hartlanl!. t Besides his widow, Nancy White Flint, he L survived ! y a brotherin-law, four cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the residence, 159 South Brunswick Street, at 2 p. m. Wednesday, supervised by Tarratine Lodge, IOOF.

Wednesday at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Portland, a son of Charles J. and •
Johanna Frederickson Floberg, and attended local ~~ schools.
Mr. Floberg lived here all his life. He was employed for many years by Portland Gu .
Co., which later became Northern Utilities. He retired ~, in 1970.
He was a member of the Masons and the 60-Plus Club of Woodfords Conmgregational Church.
His wife, Rheta V. Floberg, died last year. Surviving are two sisters, Alma F. Floberg and
Madeline A. Floberg, both of Portland. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hay and __
Peabody Funeral Home, 749 Congress St. Burial will • follow in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland.

home in Belfast Jan. 9, 1997, after a prolonged bout with cancer.
He was born in Poors Mills, , Feb. 16, 1921. the son of Stillman and SteUa (Daggett) Flood.
He served a hitch in the National Guard Co. K. before World War n. During the war be served in the Navy as a: pharmacist's mate first class. He retired from State Sand and Gravel a few years ago after
· many years of faithful service. Surviving arc two daughters,
Susan Downs of Frankfort and Jane Blood of Waldo; three sons, BiUy and his wife, Carol, of Knox, David Jr. and liis wife, Verena, of Belfast and Chris and his wife, Mary, of Waldo; one sister, Rose 1 ,Hall of Belfast; one' brother, Allen ~ of Belfast; ooe aun~ Evelyn Cross j of Morrill; and several nieces. ·· nephews, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He will be especially missed by his dearest friend and , longtime companion, Geneva French. He was predeceised by a ! sist.er, Mary Hall; and a brother, Warren Flood. : •
He was interred in Morrill Cemetery on Jan. 10, by his sons, BiUy, David Jr., Chris, and grand- , son Gene. . · '

James A. Haley VA hospital In Tampa, Fla. Gordon was born In Kennebunk Sept . 30, 1923, the son of Clancy and Angeline
Brewer Flood. Upon graduating high school he joined the U.S. ARMY and became a member of the lOlnd airborne. He served as a paratrooper during World War II In Europe: and participated In the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he returned to Maine and wor1<ed ror Fox and Ginn Trucking of Portland as a foreman for many years. Mr. Flood was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves for over 32 years.
Gordon was a member and past master or the saco Lodge # 9, Past hiQh Priest of York Chapter •s REM, Past Palron of OES Annette Chapter 184 of Saco, Past Ill. Master of Maine COuncil 117 ot Saco, Past Commander or St. Amand Commandry •20 of Kennebunk, and a member of Kora Shrine Temple Lewiston.
Mr. Flood Is predeceased by his wife Lydia Flood In 1974. Survivors Include two daughters, Reetta Flood of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Marcia cascman of Carlisle, Penn. ; one grandson, James; one granddaughter, Zoe; and two great- grandchildren, Jackson and carter.
Graveside service will be held at Brooklawn Memorial Park In South Portland, Seturday, Jan. 13, 2007, et 9 a.m. Dennett, Craig &. Pate Funeml Home Saco arc In charge of the arrangements.

He was born in Biddeford, a son of John aDjl ~ Etchells Flood, and attended schools there. q-'/-I'/ ~i:c
As a young man, he moved to Canada to work on me railroad He served an apprenticeship in the Saco LoweR • Shops of Biddeford and later worked as a machinist at the fonner Goodall-Banford Textile Mills. After the mills· closed in 1954, he went to work for Eastern Plastics-in Springvale. For a short time, during the World War II, he was employed at the Porstmouth Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Flood was a member of Preble Lodge, AF & · AM.
His wife, Bertha Goodrich Flood, died in 1986. Surviving are a son, John E. Flood Jr. of Palos Verdes,
Calif.; three sisters, Ruth Payne and Emma Willard of Orange, Mass., and Helen Heffernan of Tacoma, Wash.; live grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am. Saturday at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Sl, Springvale. The Rev. Elizabeth Keating of the First Baptist Church, Spring-

DOVER-FOXCROFT - r ert Flowers, died April 11, 1988, on his 91 st birthday at a local nursing home. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie (Shllcack) Flowers. He was bom in Brockton, Mass., the son of George and Mary Ellen (Roberts) Flowers. He also lived In Randolph and East Bridgewater, Mass. before moving to Dover-Foxcroft In 19-U. He operated a dairy farm on the Sebec lake Road for many years and also worked as on automobile and small motor mechanic for Dover Motor Co., M.l. CoHin Co. and Rowell's Garope. f
A Mason or over 50 years, he wos octlve In Moine and MassachuHtts lodges. He was a member of the Eastern Star, the Cen· tral Grange and Daver·Foxcroft United Methodist Church. An enthusiastic bowler, Mr. Flowers was still bowling r ular and wlnnln ies when
he was in hit eighties. He is IUNfved by one daughtW, Mn. One of two men in the na· tion to be named an honorary past grand commander of a grand commandery, Knights Templar, Floyd retired in 1943 after 51 years in the employ of the city at Evergreen Cemetery. For 30 years he assisted his father, Frank M. Floyd, cemetery superintendent, and later succeeded him in that position. In 1946 he waa named a trustee of the cemetery.
His Masonic oareer waa a long aftd active one. It began in 1893 when he was raised tn . Ancient Landmark Lodge here. He soon attained membershiP' in other York Rite bodies and also was a 32nd Degree Mason. . , He b e c a m e secretary of
1 Ancient Landmark Lodge in 1915. He was named trea.surer of the. Grand Commandery of Maine, Knights Templar, In 1922; treasurer of the Grand Chapter of Maine Royal Arch Masons, in 192S, and recorder of St. Alban Commandery KT, in 1931.
He served t h e s e several Masonic bodies until 1946 when he retired. He also served as commander o! St. Alban Commandery in 1905, He and the late Convers E. Leach were named honorary past commanders of the Orand mandery of Maine KT, In recognition of their many years of service. So far as could be determined, they \\'ere the only Sir Knights in the nation so honored.
A native of Portland, he attended ' I o c a 1 schools and specialized in accounting at Gray's Business College. He worked for two years as assistant bookkeeper with a shoe manufacturer then joined father in the cemetery
