TO THE BRETHREN Thank you again for the opportunity to serve Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 as its Master in 2011. It is truly and honor and privilege to be elected and installed as the Master of this esteemed lodge. I would like to thank all of the officers and committee members that have agreed to serve with me this year; I look forward to working with each of you and have full confidence that through your talents and knowledge you will serve the lodge well.

I am pleased to announce that we once again will be having several world class speakers at Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 this year. In March, we will be hearing from Bro. Christopher McIntosh; Bro. McIntosh has written several books on both Freemasonry and Rosicrucian Enlightenment. In May, we will be visited by Wor. Bro. Trevor Stewart, Past Master of Quatuor Coronati Lodge No. 2076. Later in the year, we have the privilege of hearing a presentation by Bro. Patrick Craddock. Bro. Craddock is an expert in Masonic Regalia and the craftsman who produced the beautiful aprons worn by our three most recent Past Masters and several of our members.

We have two events scheduled for the month of January; on Thursday, January 13th, we will have our first stated communication of the new year and on Thursday, January 27th, we will be having a called communication for work in the degrees. At our stated communication on the 13th, we will open a Lodge of Sorrow, hear the Master’s welcome address entitled, Freemasonry and the Western Esoteric Tradition, and we will have the lodge business. As has been the tradition of the lodge, there will be a festive board immediately following the lodge meeting. Please email the stewards at [email protected] if you plan on attending the festive board.

At our called communication on the 27th, we will hear the Entered Apprentice Catechism returned from two brethren and if found proficient, they will be passed to the degree of Fellowcraft. As you all know, the degree work is the most important activity of the lodge, so I hope to see as many of you as possible at this, and the rest of the called communications this year.

I thank you for allowing me to serve the lodge as its 152nd Master. I look forward to an enlightening and exciting year.

Fraternally, John OlsonMaster
