Additional Information: Please remember that the Playground is refreshed every Friday at 1 am. The refresh process resets the Playground back to its original state, with any changes and fixes that have been added to the EHR since the last refresh. This process also removes any work that has been done since the previous Friday. Therefore, if you have made any changes or additions to a patient's record, they will be removed during the refresh process.

6. You will now see two applications from which you can choose.

Which is the right one for you? Read below and we’ll let you decide.

Welcome to the future. FS Playground - Future State Playground - is Playground version 2012. This particular version of Playground will look most similar to the version of Epic your hospital will be receiving come Go Live. CSPlayground - EHR Farm is Current State Epic Playground version 2010. This version of the Playground environment is an older version. Try not to use this version if you are provisioned with both 2012 and 2010.

7. Now that you’ve chosen the version that’s right for you, you’ll see a screen prompting you

to log into Playground. We have provided you with the generic logins. They are located on Page11. Please note: WBR users will be assigned a personal EHR login and password after their training classes.

For this example we’ve chosen the login CBIPMD, note that this stands for Collaborative Build Inpatient MD. We then entered the password associated to that specific login. Note: WBR Generic Logins are in the process of being built. Please use the CB generics logins provided on pg. 11 while we wait for the build to be completed.

Enter the generic login and password you’ve chosen from page 11.

8. Once you click “Login”, the window will prompt you to select a department. The window will pre-select the department field with the department that was used most recently. If the field reflects the department you would like to log in under, click “Ok”. Note: If you don’t see the department you want, click the magnifying glass to search.

9. If you chose to look for your department, the next window you’ll see will look similar to the

window below. The most recent departments are listed under the “Recent” tab. Note: Each department has multiple categories, giving you further detailed information about each department.

Select your department and click “accept”

Note the abbreviations and the categories: The first department, WBR SH Login General VRT, refers to the West Bay Region Sutter Health General Med with the location category showing California Pacific Medical Center. Whereas the department with CVR SH Login General VRT refers to Central Valley Region Sutter Health General Med with that location category showing Memorial Hospital. Dependent on how you choose to search, you may also see department abbreviations for other regions: CV for Central Valley, EB for East Bay, and MP for Mills Peninsula – just to name a few.

10. Still don’t see your desired department? Click the search tab. In the search field you can type keywords like WBR for all West Bay Region departments. Just make sure to pay special attention to the abbreviations of the department you eventually choose. Note: When searching for your specialty’s department, search the WBR (West Bay Region) departments before looking into WB (West Bay). If your region’s specialty department is not yet fully built, meaning you don’t see any patients, search for a region that had previously gone live. Try the abbreviations EB (East Bay) or CVR (Central Valley Region).

Type department keywords here. Example: WBR or WB

Don’t forget to click “accept”

What you’ll see next in the Epic Playground is based on which department you selected, role that you are

currently using, and patients that are built in that area already.

Feeling overwhelmed? To help you get started, sample step‐by‐step exercises by Role can be found on http://mysutter/SHEBR/Clinical/EHR. Under Related Links, click on Cyber Café Exercises.

Most physician exercises can be found under Role: ED Physician or General Provider (LIP).
