Equipment, as it pertains to this position, currently includes but, will not be limited to: Tatami Mats Scoring Equipment Tournament Computers Equipment Trailer Other Tournament Equipment & Supplies The VKALM will assist with coordination and execution of up to approximately 10 Karate Alberta events per year with little supervision. Candidate must provide outstanding service, be an enthusiastic professional, have the ability to problem-solve, be willing to work occasional evenings and many weekends, and be able to build relationships with internal and external contacts, site managers, suppliers and others. of weeknight work (occasional reporting on inventory and storage) and special event weekend work (ie on-site tournaments & clinics).

Tournaments are normally on weekend days (either Saturdays or Sundays, starting at ~8:00am and concluding at ~5:30pm. Most tournaments will require the VKALM to bring from storage all necessary equipment in time for set-up prior to the event, be available throughout the day to answer questions (although not necessarily on site) and with a volunteer crew to coordinate take-down, inventory summary and pack-up of all KA equipment and then return to storage. There are also potentially out of town tournaments (KA tournaments are currently held either in Calgary or Edmonton) and potentially coordination with logistics managers from other KA clubs looking to rent equipment from KA.

COMPENSATION OF EXPENSES:

Approved expenses + Automobile allowance Automobile allowance of 20% over and above the standard revenue Canada allowance rate (currently 55¢ per kilometre) Under the direction of the Karate Alberta Team Manager(s), Karate Alberta Board of Directors (specifically the Tournament Committee Chair and Coaching Committee Chair) the Supply and Logistics Manager, manages the logistics operations of the inventory of Karate Alberta tournament, clinic and provincial team training equipment & supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Valid Drivers Licence with clean Driving Abstract Must provide a police check including VSS (Vulnerable Sector Search) Communication skills (writing, proof reading, and speaking) Reliable Organized High attention to detail Outgoing Respectful Conscientious Independant problem solver Capable of independent physical labour such loading and unloading the Karate Alberta trailer with tatami mats Reliable vehicle with an adequate tow capacity (1/2 tonne truck with a tow capacity of at least 3,800 lbs) is a must.

Please note that Karate Alberta will not be held liable for any damage to one’s vehicle in the course of action relating to this position.
