    WE SHALL BE RELEASING THE SHORT LISTED ENTRIES FOR EACH CATEGORY.

  • A vibrant, celebratory atmosphere is certain at the London Marriott in Grosvenor Square on Thursday 3rd May 2018 as ACE, in it’s 67th year, hosts The Newspaper & Magazine Awards, the highest accolade of the Newspaper & Magazine publishing industry.

    The evening will be simply spectacular from beginning to end. As soon as you arrive at the sumptuous venue, you will hit the red carpet and strike a pose for the paparazzi, then rub shoulders with the industry’s most eminent and successful members.

  • A vibrant category that seeks to celebrate the title which has capturedthe focus of our independent news and magazine retailers.

    We will be asking the retailers to reflect upon how their nominated title;• has performed during the past 12 months or less if a seasonal title• the sales & marketing support that was employed to drive sales through their store(s)• the retail objectives that had been set by the publisher or distributor

    To be eligible in this category a UK title must • have been available for sale for a minimum 3-month period during 2017 • be a paid for magazine, newspaper, collectible or a part work. Nominations may be submitted by publishers or distributors. The nominations will be voted for by independent retail members of NFRN

    This award recognises the National Newspaper that has excelled in engaging with their audience adding genuine value to the market.

    Nominations need to detail impact achieved and initiatives employed to drive• Sales• Brand penetration• Audience engagement• Supply chain optimisation

    The nomination can be supported by a maximum of 3 single pages of sales data, testimony or images.

    To be eligible in this category a UK title must • have been available for sale across the UK for the duration of 2017 • be a paid for national newspaper title (the title may cover the entire UK or individual countries)

  • This award is open to all publications launched during 2017 that achieved impact in the marketplace and demonstrated robust circulation, distribution and/or readership figures.

    The judges will consider all aspects of the launch campaign and will be looking specifically for initiatives via the news trade, direct to consumer or via digital copy that have contributed positively to the publication’s success.

    The judges will also take into account the market sector into which the title was launched.

    The nomination can be supported by a maximum of 3 single pages of sales data, testimony or images.

    The publication may • be a paid for or free newspaper, magazine, part work or collectable published at regular intervals at least 6 times annually • a title that has re-launched as a FREE title having previously been available as a paid for titleTo be eligible in this category a UK publication must have been launched between September 2016 and August 2017

    This award seeks to recognise the UK or Non-UK publication that has run the most effective promotional campaign for 2017

    The winning entry will be judged on the value the campaign has brought to the publication including increased sales, publicity and brand awareness.

    The promotion can be a UK or Non-UK campaign executed on a national or regional basis across single or multiple issues

    The nomination can be supported by a maximum of 3 single pages of sales data, testimony or images.

    The publication may be • a paid for or free newspaper, magazine, part work or collectable published at regular intervals at least 6 times annually

    Nominations need to detail impact the retailer team have made and the initiatives employed to enhance• Range performance• The consumer experience• Cohesive supply chain partnerships• Sector relevance

    Nominations can be supported by a maximum of 3 single pages of sales data, testimony or images.

    To be eligible in this category the retailer may be a multiple or independent UK retailer. Nominations may be submitted ONLY by representatives of independent or multiple retailers through the on-line entry template accessed via the ACE web site.

    This award recognises those individuals who have been working in the industryfor a minimum of two years, are under 35 years of age and whose contributionin their role is worthy of industry-wide recognition.

    The winner of this award will not only receive the accolade they deserveamongst their peers but will also receive a cheque for £500.
