Meets Wednesdays at 6:30PM East Side Mario’s Fanshawe Park Rd.

& North Centre

WELCOME ALL!!

About 14 people gathered at East Side Mario for the first meeting of our new Rotary year. Colin’s wife Julie was our only guest.

Regrets were received from Tom, Pat, Arun and Margaret.

President Doug led us in toasts to the Queen, Canada and Rota-ry.

Some Happy Bucks…$6 from Julie as one of the robotics team mem-bers won a healthy scholarship to U. of Waterloo..$5 from Colin as Julie joined him for the meet-ing..$5 from Bill as Gael did not join him for dinner this being their 59th wedding anniver-sary..$10 from Yvette as she has family visiting from Trinidad..$5 from Vic for a good day of golf..$5 from Andy as he was

characteristically late..$1 from Doug for his typing skills and $70 from Don for his birthday.

Correction...the PHF that Doug received last week should have been PHF+8 !

An update on polio donations. Zone 24E (our zone) donated over $1million to polio this past year and District 6330 members donated over $110,000.

London East RC is collecting bicycles to send to South Africa. If you have any idle ones sitting around your house bring them in.

needed for the golf tourney com-ing up in 4 very short weeks.

Vic had several cases of Guisi’s jams for all to take home and enjoy. Please bring back the empty jars! She supplies these out of her own pocket. Chil-dren’s clothing, shoes etc. can be brought in as Guisi is heading back to Cuba in November.

Colin won the draw and took home a nice bottle of vintage.

certificate or pin on hand howev-er the “presentation” was made with the hardware to be delivered personally by Doug. Having given up part of her basement and gar-age for the robotics team and Colin’s computer project, Julie has been very much a helping hand with a number of LNR pro-jects. Congratulations and many thanks to Julie!

Doug reviewed the new board members and advised that a sec-retary is needed!!! He will stay on for a bit but as president his hands will be full enough (let alone whatever he is doing on the district level.) Step up some-one and help out.

Being a business meeting Gary presented the financial state-ments. All is in good order as always!

Vic mentioned that he had re-cently attended the Medway High School graduation ceremo-nies. He encouraged all to take the opportunity if possible to at-tend on of these. He was very impressed with the caliber of stu-dents.

Goals and activities (confirmed and tentative) were reviewed by President Doug. We will be look-ing at $2000 to the Annual Funds of RI as well as $1000 to polio. Activities include, or may include, the golf tourney, DG Martin Ward’s visit, dictionary project, the April 14 Variety Show, a joint meeting with Lon-don East RC, an East Coast Breakfast Party (?!?)...lots happen-ing on the horizon.

Needless to say that prizes, more golfers, hole sponsors are still
