It was a fortress, a palace, a prison, a mint and the King’s Zoo.
It was built in the 11th century.
Now it is a museum.
There are always black ravens in the tower. People believe that London will be rich while ravens live there.
St. Paul’s Cathedral
One of the greatest English churches.
It was built in the 17th century after the Great Fire. It took Sir Christopher Wren 35 years.
In one of its towers there is one of the largest bells in the world.
The Houses of Parliament
Big Ben
The large clock of the towers is Big Ben.
Big Ben is the name of the clock and the bell of the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament.
You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London.
Trafalgar SquareThe centre of London is Trafalgar Square.
In the middle of the square stands a monument to Admiral Nelson.
4 bronze lions look at the square from the monument.
There are two beautiful fountains in the square.
Westminster Abbey
It is one of the most famous churches in London
It is very old. It was built in 1065.
Many English kings and queens are buried there.
It is famous for the Poet’s Corner too.
The Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace.
