We are very happy to announce that after a hard fought negotiations with the Bank's Apex level authorities, this achievement could be possible and we have been continuously apprising our members throughout the struggle period. We are also thankful to all the members of SBI Pensioners Association for their support and patience. It was a team effort to get this demand approved by the Govt. of India and our thanks to the worthy Chairman of our Bank for keeping her promise to release the arrears in the month of July, 2017. As a mater of fact, the arrears could only be paid when the E.C.B. at Corporate Office and the Government had to be cleared by them. Since this procedure could not be completed, as such the 90% of the arrears in the form of Adhoc payment has been released. Long Live our Federation of SBI Pensioners

Comrades,

It was a red letter day in the history of our

SBI Pensioners throughout the country as the 90%

of the Adhoc payment of the arrears to the 5th,

6th & 7th Bipartite settlement were started from

15.07.2017 onwards and would continue to be paid

to the pensioners upto 31.07.2017 as advised by

our federation. We are very happy to announce

that after a hard fought negotiations with the Bank's

Apex level authorities, this achievement could be

possible and we have been continuously apprising

our members throughout the struggle period. We

are also thankful to all the members of SBI

Pensioners Association for their support and

patience. It was a team effort to get this demand

approved by the Govt. of India and our thanks to

the worthy Chairman of our Bank for keeping her

promise to release the arrears in the month of

July, 2017. As a mater of fact, the arrears could

only be paid when the E.C.B. at Corporate Office

and the Government had to be cleared by them.

you receive our copy of Pensioners' Mail for August,

2017, something would be known to you in a

positive response from the Court. Let us hope and

pray that our this demand is also fulfilled in very

short time.

Regarding our demand of 100% D.A.

neutralization of Pre-2002 retirees, Family pension

at 30% of pay, updation of our pension and the

medical insurance premiums of all the pensioners

should be paid by the Bank is also in the progress.

The talks with the Govt. and IBA by our CBPRO

are already under way and we do hope that the

sooner this demand is also accepted.

Dear Comrades, it has been decided in our

Executive Committee Meeting that the pensioners,

who have got arrears/Adhoc payment of more than

Rs.1 lac , are requested to donate a meagre

News from Units

KURUKSHETRA UNIT

A very successful Pensioners' Meet was

organised by our Kurukshetra Unit under the

Chairmanship of Sh. V.K. Jain, the President

of the unit and accompanied by the Secretary

Sh. Gore Lal Gupta. About 40 members took

part in the meeting. 8 new members were also

enrolled on the spot. We are thankful and

welcome these new members and assure our

all support by advising them the ongoing

developments in the Association and Federa-

tion through our monthly pensioners mail. S/

Sh. T.R. Gupta, S.K. Sharma, S.S. Kumaria, Tek Chand, M.S. Mongia and H.K. Sharma also attended

the meet from Chandigarh. Various quarries were raised

by our members regarding Medical Floater Scheme,

payment of arrears of pre-2002 retirees, D.A. neutralization

and 30% of family pension were also raised, which were

promptly replied in details by Sh. T.R. Gupta, General

Secretary. Sh. Dikshant Sharma, a senior executive of

TPAs Anand Rathi also spoke and distributed the new I-

cards of the Insurance policies holders at the Kurukshetra

and gave clarifications to some of the questions raised

by our members thereat. We thank our Kurukshetra

Unit for organising a wonderful meeting/meet thereat.

The seniormost pensioners Sh. Sehgal present

thereat at the meet who is 78 years old, was

honoured by the Circle Association and Sh. Jain was

also honoured by the Circle Association, who was

instrumental in sending the legal fund not from

Kurukshetra only but even from Bahadurgarh also.

JALANDHAR UNIT

As we have already announced in our Pensioners Mail of March, 2017 that whenever any existing

member enroll new members, who had retired before December, 2015, he or she would be

awarded Rs.300/- each for member (not less than minimum of 3 members). We are glad to

announce that our Vice President of Pb.-1 Module Sh. Y.P. Suri, enrolled 7 such members. The

Our Karnal Unit has done a very noble and

commendable job by collecting Rs.35,000/-

(Rupees Thirty five thousand only) from their

to the "Armed Forces Battlefield Casualty

Welfare Fund" a/c maintained at Syndicate

Bank. The initiative for the above idea was

mooted by one of our pensioner Sh. Sudhir

Rawal on ongoing process. Well done our

Karnal Unit.

Further, in their meeting held on 30.06.2017,

Sh. Gaurav Sharma, Branch Manager of

Ambedkar Chowk Branch, Karnal arranged

a talk by expert investment bankers, mutual

funds, SBI Life, which was very beneficial

for senior citizens and their family members

and was followed by tea and snacks by

our this branch.

FAMILY FLOATER GROUP MEDICLAIM POLICY (GMC)CHANGE OF TAX RATES IN PREMIUM DUE TO INTRODUCTION OF GOODS &SERVICES TAX (GST) FROM 1ST JULY 2017

Please refer to Corporate Centre e-Circular No. CDO/P&HRD-PPFG/82/2016-17 dated 06.01.2017 advising

renewal of the Family Floater Group Mediclaim Policy (Policy-B) w.e.f. 16.01.2017 for a further period of

one year.

2. Presently, Service Tax on the premium on plan opted by the retiree is levied @ 15% which

includes Service Tax (14%), Swachh Bharat Cess (0.50%) and Kisan Kalyan Cess (0.50%). In this

connection, as per the advices received from United India Insurance Co., the Goods & Services Tax

(GST) will be applicable on all General Insurance Policies @ 18% w.e.f. 1st July, 2017 in place of the

present tax structure. Accordingly, change in tax rates will also be applicable in our Group Mediclaim

Policies (Policy-A & Policy-B). In this connection, we have made arrangements to bring about such

changes in the software of Mediclaim to take effect from 1st July, 2017. All enrollments from 1st July,

2017 will attract GST @ 18%. We give below plan wise existing and proposed tax rates for Policy-B:

MUTUALWELFARE SCHEME (CirDO/P&HRD/11 OF 2003-2004

Date of commencement : 01.12.1982

Last date of joining : 31.12.1993

Objective : To provide medical assistance to retired employees and their spouse and timely

financial help to family members of the employees on their death, during service or after

retirement.

Membership : Permanent employees of the Bank including those on probation and permanent

Part time employees as on 31.12.1992 having 25 years of service or more till the age of 60 or with

other terms and condition can become members of the scheme.

Some important points for the members

1. Membership contribution up to the age of 60

2. Cessation of service : member has to pay all the contribution with lump sum payment up to the

age of 60

3. On the death of member before age of 60 : The spouse/nominee will get lump sum amount

and monthly financial relief and on the death of member after retirement only monthly

financial relief payable to spouse. Life certificate to be submit every year in N ovember .
