The village is a friendly, bustling

community and has a range of local

shops including a Co-op and a Post

Office. It also offers a choice of places to

eat and drink, as do surrounding villages

and towns, such as Tranent, Pencaitland

and Haddington.

Fort Kinnaird Retail Park is about 20

minutes’ drive away. This offers high-

street names, including B&Q, Marks &

Spencer and Pizza Express. It also

boasts an Odeon cinema.

The countryside around Long Meadow

is full of places to explore and walks to

enjoy. East Lothian’s many golf courses

and beautiful beaches are also all within

easy reach.

Ormiston has a well-regarded primary

school and the secondary school is close

by in Tranent. The village is also well

placed for commuters working in East

Lothian, Edinburgh or further afield. The

A1 and Edinburgh city bypass are just a

short drive away and there is a regular

bus service into the city.
