Washington, Chief Executive Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority One Gateway Plaza Los Angeles, CA 90012-2952 Re: City of Long Beach: Identification and Acceleration of Projects Dear Mr. Washington: The City of Long Beach has been working with staff from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Senator Ricardo Lara, and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti regarding specific projects, timelines and funding allocations for projects benefiting the City of Long Beach, and as they relate to Metro’s potential ballot measure. This letter follows on our original letter dated April 28, 2016 and subsequent meetings that have taken place since. As the 2 nd largest city in Los Angeles County, a city with a history of high voter turnout, and a significant generator of sales tax for the region, the City of Long Beach is requesting the following projects, ground- breaking start date, expected completion date, and funding allocations be specified in the potential ballot measure expenditure plan: Project Ground- breaking Start Date Expected Completion Date Funding Allocation (in thousands) Notes I-710 South Corridor Project 2020 2025 $500,000 Projects include Shoemaker Bridge, Blue Line Wardlow Station Grade Separation, and “Early Action” projects. I-710 South Corridor Project 2027 2041 $908,000 Long Beach requests complete removal of any assumption of a container- fee as part of this project. Downtown Long Beach Blue Line Fare Evasion Pilot Program 2018 2020 $4,000 Funding to be used for a feasibility study, design and environmental, construction, project evaluation costs and other needs as appropriate. Green Line Extension TBD TBD TBD Long Beach requests a commitment in the draft expenditure plan to evaluate new light rail opportunities connecting the City of Long Beach to LAX.

Long Beach understands Metro will be finalizing an expenditure plan for the potential ballot measure this week.
