Looking Ahead Undoubtedly, the events of 2020-2021 challenged our students and educators to stretch themselves in new and creative ways to keep the arts alive during a global pandemic. This year, we saw our performance-based classes shift to virtual instruction. We focused on honing individual musicianship skills and embraced lessons on music history and theory. We forged ahead and donned masks while playing and singing, taking breaks to let the air refresh. We engaged in creating art in our own isolated spaces, sometimes relying on found household items to produce our creations. We came together, but we remained six feet apart. Finally, tonight, we bring back live music and showcase student art! Now, we are Looking Ahead to a promising fresh start, armed with the endurance, tenacity, and passion for the Arts that saw us through this year. This evening, you will hear selections that take you on a journey; from turmoil and strife to hope and triumph! “Fanfare for the Third Planet,” with its bright and robust themes, affirms that we are coming out of this year together. Messages of hope and change burst forth from “Hope Springs Eternal,” “I Dream a World” and “Hear the Music.” We invite you to come along as we celebrate Looking Ahead to a brighter future!
