    To Whom It May Concern:

Brettani Barry has been a student teacher in my first grade class for sixteen weeks. I teach a gener-

al education class of twenty-four first grade students. The class includes 50% ESL as well as three

students with special needs. Brettani has been responsible for teaching Language Arts, Math, So-cial Studies and Science. She has also worked in a leveled reading program with second and third

graders who read on a first grade level.

Ms. Barry has had the experience of teaching four units of math during her time in my class. Dur-

ing this time she has planned and implemented the daily work, reinforced the concepts taught with

games and activities and administered graded, and analyzed unit tests. Brettani has successfully

demonstrated her awareness of different learning styles and has adequately adjusted assignments tomeet the varied needs of students. Her units were thoroughly prepared and implemented. She was

successful in monitoring and adjusting to various schedule changes in order to complete it during

    her time of teaching.

Brettanis experience in Language Arts included teaching six, two-week, units. This involved

teaching spelling, vocabulary, shared reading, guided reading, creative writing and responsive writ-

ing. She was involved in daily journal activities, teaching mechanics of writing as well as sentencestructure. She completed these activities using the text book series and developing her own activi-

ties to reinforce the concepts being taught.

Brettani possesses a positive and enthusiastic personality. She has a great rapport with the students

she has worked with. She is well dressed, articulate, and always ready with a smile and a kind

word. I have found that other team members have accepted her as a strong working member of our

team and she has had a positive working relationship with each one of them, as well as with otherstaff members.

I am confident that Ms. Barry will be an asset to any staff that she works with. She is confident,

knowledgeable, and has the skills of a seasoned teacher. I believe that she will continue to growand become even more effective as a teacher with further opportunities. Please feel free to contact
