Introduction
Thank you for your interest in the Lourdes High School Auditorium. This document is intended to serve as an introduction to the physical and technical specifications of the stage and surrounding areas of Lourdes High School. It is to be used as a general guide to the facilities and equipment of the main auditorium and surrounding spaces. It is by no means a “last word”; some equipment may be under repair, lost, damaged, or replaced. Any questions may be directed to the House Manager or Fine Arts Department Chair for clarification.

Policies
It is in best interest to make sure that all who use Lourdes High School facilities are aware of rules and regulations to avoid any issues. All users of the Fine Arts facilities will be subject to facility use agreements identifying specific rules and responsibilities. The following are minimum requirements. In the case of discrepancy between documents, the facility use agreement contract shall supersede this document.
• The Auditorium is located within Lourdes High School. All Rochester Catholic Schools campuses are both smoke-free and alcohol-free. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
• The user shall be responsible for all set-up, clean-up, damage repairs and security.
• Decorations must be temporary and approved by school representative prior to display. Removal is required immediately following the event.
• Lourdes High School reserves the right to disallow events that are not consistent with the Catholic identity of the school.
• Any intended use of naked flames, pyrotechnics, smoke, fog, haze, or strobes must be notified to the Manager at least two (2) weeks prior to load in. This same policy applies to the use of flammable liquids and material such as straw. Permission is at the sole discretion of Lourdes High School.
• The painting of sets and scenery should be completed prior to load in. By prior arrangements some painting may be allowed in the Scene Shop. Painting will not be allowed on stage apart from minor touch ups, and only then if the stage floor is protected.
• Any lighting fixtures brought into the Auditorium for use on stage must be complete with safety cable and be in compliance with electrical regulations. This also applies to any portable equipment used in the Auditorium, i.e. P.A. equipment, light fixtures, and any other portable electrical equipment. Appropriate compliance is determined at the discretion of Lourdes High School Personnel. The Auditorium and Black Box use three-prong stage pin connectors for all dimmable fixtures.
• All flats, scenery, drapes, costumes and props etc. must be fireproofed prior being to used in the Auditorium. In accordance with Minnesota State Fire Code 807.4.2.1, foam plastics MAY NOT BE USED within the building.
Food and Beverage
• Food and refreshments shall not be served in any area of the school facility other than the Commons (cafeteria).
• Food is not permitted in the Lourdes High School Auditorium control booth, dressing rooms, on stage, or public seating area.
• Only water in enclosed/non-spill containers, no larger than one (1) liter, will be permitted in the Auditorium.
• A food service company under contract with Lourdes High School reserves exclusive catering/food-service rights for the Lourdes High School facility. No other forms of catering/food-service (commercial or private) may be used unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by the user, Lourdes High School, and the food service company.

Load-In Facilities Scene Shop Dock
Entrance is at ground and stage level. As this area is also the theatre’s scene shop, an appropriate path will be cleared for load-in. Garage doors between driveway, scene shop, hallway, and stage measure 10ft wide and 12ft tall. The stage garage door is located Up Stage Left and the scene shop is directly across the hallway with matching door/ceiling height minimum.
Loading Dock
Truck-trailer level loading dock is available in rear of school between gym and Commons (cafeteria). This option should only be used if necessary as equipment must be transported all the way through the main corridor of the school in order to reach the Auditorium. Prior arrangements must be made for use of this option. This corridor is generally locked, restricting access.

Hearing Assistance System
The Auditorium is equipped with a Listen Technologies FM hearing assistance system. All seats in the Auditorium are capable of receiving the main audio mix. Four (4) headsets are available upon request, though may not be available for all performances. The Listen System works on the 72 MHz frequency.

Production Communication 1- Telex Audiocom 2 Channel Base Station MS-2002 8- BP-2002 Dual Channel Belt Pack 8- 30’ Intercom Connection Cables 8- Single Muff Headsets Backstage Feed
In ceiling speakers are installed in backstage and stage right hallways, band room, choral room, black box, and make up rooms. When in use, backstage feed is broadcast in all of these areas; use may be prohibited if additional activities are taking place in those areas. Backstage feed can contain a mix of the following: main audio mix, message repeater, PA output from intercom system, and an auxiliary output from the mixing console.
Lobby Feed
In ceiling speakers are installed in Fine Arts Lobby area, bathrooms, and stage left hallway. When in use, lobby feed is broadcast in all of these areas. Lobby feed can contain a mix of the following: main audio mix, and message repeater.
Lecture System
The Lecture System runs independently of the main audio mixer. All control for the lecture system is accomplished with Biamp Audia “Volume/Select 8” control panels. Identical panels are located on the downstage right wall and in the control booth. Inputs controlled by these panels include Lecture Mic 1, Lecture Mic 2, Lecture Mic 3, Wireless Mic 1, Wireless Mic 2, Video Projection Switcher Audio, and building paging feed. Wireless microphone inputs are compatible with either handheld or body pack transmitters, with either headset or lavaliere microphones.
Processing Structure
The Lecture System, with its respective control panels, is directly processed with a Biamp Audia Flex system. The main program audio inputs are wired to digital snake units, located in the dimmer room and control room, that are connected directly to the main audio mixer in the control room. The main left, center, and right outputs of the mixer are then sent to the Biamp Audia Flex system. The Audia Flex sends the outputs of the lecture and/or main program systems to the under balcony amplifier and a pair of loudspeaker system processors, located in the dimmer room, where the main left, center, and right signals are individually split between high, mid, and sub frequency ranges before being sent to the amplifiers and speakers.

Black Box General
Located behind the auditorium between the scene shop and dressing rooms, the black box theatre is a 44’ x 33’ multipurpose space with its own control room. Typical uses for the black box during a production in the main auditorium include as a green room, art gallery, and temporary storage area. The wood flooring surface is identical to the main auditorium stage. Black velour drapes are mounted on tracks 12’ high around the edge of the room and can be drawn to cover the block walls and exterior window.
