Her work, while alling into the fine art category, isheavily influenced by her ample skills as an illustrator. She aims to take her audience on a journey with eachwork, drawing viewers into a bold, dreamlike worlddominated by her unlimited imagination. Ruiz’sexperience as a tattoo artist has also had an unexpectedeffect on her gallery artwork. She explains that when

aced with making a permanent mark on skin the needor accuracy is nerve-racking. When she returns toworking on paper, board or canvas, she eels somewhatliberated. Te result is a newound confidence to heralready mature sense o composition and line.

o join local artist Ruiz, the gallery has invited Beth Bojarski to debut her work in Idaho. TeWisconson native also seeks a sense o reedom through her artistic mediums. She writes, “I don’tsketch ideas before I begin. In the blotches of color applied, I may see an eye or mouth’s shape… I

allow the painting to become what it wants.”

Te painter didn’t hone her technique untilseveral years afer receiving a degree inIllustration rom the Kendall College o Artand Design. It was only ollowing an invitationto exhibit in a gallery show that she beganpainting or the purposes o personalexpression over the needs o a client. Te rangeo suraces adorned by her dreamy paintingsinclude tree stumps, barn doors, and discardedcabinets. Te pieces are multi-layered, bothphysically and metaphorically. Te artistcombines strong visual images with anunderlying story that emerges through theprocess. Enjoying the orm o storytelling,Bojarski’s visual language combines a strongsense o narrative with distinctly surreal

imagery.
