GRADE WEIGHTING AND REPORTINGLovejoy High School reports a weighted grade point average.Students' grade point averages and class rank are computedusing a weighted 4.0 scale. e scale below is used to discernthe grades obtained in courses of varying levels of difficulty. In order to encourage each Lovejoy student to select a rigorousand diverse curriculum above and beyond graduationrequirements, students are allowed to exclude up to 8 semestergrades from his or her GPA calculations. Additionally, seniorsmay be concurrently enrolled at Collin College for both collegeand high school credit. ese courses may be used to satisfygraduation requirements; however, they are not included in thestudent’s GPA. Traditional high school courses taken in middleschool are also not computed as part of the cumulative GPA,although they are relevant in evaluating a student's preparednessfor college.

Lovejoy ISD is a non-ranking campus, unless the student is inthe Top 10%. Students may choose to opt-in to report rank ifrequested. All members of the senior class are included in the rank. Numeric Grade A P Pre-AP State Approved Courses
