LOW-E HARD COATING The Problem The fact that the temperatures of the air and the surround surface are different is based on thermal radiation or the temperature emission from inside to outside and vice versa. That differences may affect to thermal comfort of human beings. Also, it consume more energy for heating the air in the winter and cooling in the summer. The Solution Low-e hard coating is applied for the inside surface of glass glazing to reflect the radiant heating/cooling back to the room. Figure 1.
