Over the past 20 years, the mobile telecom industry experienced amassive growth, leading a lot of mobile operators to intensivelydeploy their infrastructures. This led, at the same time, to agrowing visual pollution, and a high visual impact, especially inurban areas (with towers, cables, antennas etc..).

This situation made authorities and consumers react, and makes it more difficult than ever for mobile operators to expand their mobile coverage and find a site for their antennas.

This is where solutions for cell sites integration became very useful for mobile operators. Integrate and disguise telecom infrastructures in harmony with the landscape is the best way to combine a necessary mobile coverage with a clean environment.

The Kathrein Group, worldwide leading manufacturerin base station antennas, had already taken this newpriority into consideration, by developing a specialrange of low visual impact antennes (LVIA) for itscustomers.

Allowing site-sharing to mobile operators, this newtype of integrated solution is a standard base stationpanel antennas integrated in a cylindrical radomewith a common internal structure, called pipeantennas.

With every feature of a good support for base station antennas, it immediately bringsto mobile phone users the benefit of making phone calls, without being exposed tothe negative side of it (visual pollution).
