Task 1: Read Chapter 2. In your jotter, explain

2. What do you think of the Dursleys? Why do you think they are
like this?
Task 2: Read Chapters 3 and 4 and summarise what
happens,

Write it in a wizard-like signature in your jotter.
Task 1: Worksheet 14a (attached below) If you can’t print, it’s
fine do do the work in your jotter.
Task 2: How many of your spelling words can you get into your
piece of writing and other Literacy tasks?
Extension: (optional) Worksheet 14b. Dictation means you get an
adult to make up sentences containing some of your spelling words.
They dictate (say aloud) the sentences and you write them down.
Remember capital letters, punctuation and handwriting are as
important as spelling!
Task: Read the descriptions on the Harry Potter Writing task
sheet and think about which character each describes.
In your jotter, write four phrases or sentences describing a
character from your imagination (or if your Obliviate charm was
faulty, from a later book – but don’t cheat and look it up, use
your imagination.)
Then write a paragraph where your new character is involved in
Chapter 1.

materials change
We are keeping active and exercising for at least an hour a

Science: Potions - Harry Potter isn’t quite ready for Potions
class so you may need to help him. If you have the ingredients
needed, try some of these chemical reactions. Can you find any
other home chemistry you could try?

during your experiments – some chemical reactions can be
harmful.
Video a successful reaction and put it on our Team if you

Spelling Chilli Challenge
From the word lists below, select the set that will challenge
you at an appropriate level. Give yourself a spelling test using
the words before you start – words you get correct straight away
may not need more work. If your spelling is great at the start of
the week, your focus is on using the words correctly in sentences.
