EN Product must be used by trained personnel only, trained in the use of the Lubo device.• The device is intended for use on Adult patients.• Do not use the device should the packaging be compromised or shows signs

of damage.• If any failure or incorrect operation of the device is detected, it must be

immediately replaced with another device.• Use of the device in any way other than described in this manual is prohibited.• Do not modify or alter the device in any way; any such modifications could

cause malfunction and/or injury to the patient.• Handle the device with care. The device should be transported in its original

packaging.• Properly store the device in a controlled environment. • Do not expose the device to direct heat or flammable products.• Should an adverse event occur that involves the device, the user is obliged to

report to the incident to the Ministry of Health and to the Manufacturer within the time specified by the European Regulations.

An extrication collar is only part of total patient immobilization. It is important that practitioners are trained and practiced in the use and application of the device and that all instructions are read and understood prior to application of the collar.All directions are to be considered as guidelines and not an attempt to define medical practice.Use the device only after review and approval from the supervising medical authority.

General OverviewThe LUBO™ Airway device is an adjustable, radio-lucent, single-use upper airway opening system that has been combined with a cervical collar. This combination enables non-invasive airway management to be assisted in cases of trauma where cervical fixation is a necessity. The Lubo is intended for use in cases of trauma that otherwise were often fatal because first respondents were unable to safely open the airway without risking further injury to the victim’s spinal cord.

The LUBO unit is simple and easy to use device.

Main Components• Flexible chest plate that enables the device to be adjusted to different patients

sizes. The anterior part protects the cervical spine from flexion. • Chin Holder with adjustable straps.• A set of adjustable Mandible cups used for the jaw thrust.• Set of Mandible sliding levers (with release) used to push the mandible cups

EN: Before applying the Lubo, check that the mandibles cups, located on each side of Lubo arms, are in their full back position.

Caution! Prolonged use of the jaw thrust may lead to discomfort or possible injury. The caregiver therefore should perform periodic checks to determine its suitability to the patient condition. In case of doubt consult a medical doctor. IT Descrizione del dispositivoUso previstoDestinato all’uso da parte di paramedici qualificati e operatori di pronto soccorso e in situazioni di emergenza per stabilire la pervietà delle vie aeree e l’immobilizzazione del rachide cervicale nei pazienti traumatizzati.

AvvertenzaIl collare LUBO per le vie aeree è progettato per l’applicazione da parte di operatori sanitari autorizzati secondo le indicazioni fornite da un medico o da un’altra autorità medica. Se non utilizzato secondo le indicazioni fornite da un medico o da un’altra autorità medica, potrebbero verificarsi lesioni permanenti.

Attenzione! L’uso prolungato della manovra di sublussazione della mandibola può portare a fastidi o a possibili lesioni. Vantaggi e uso• Collare cervicale con apertura delle vie

aeree per uso pre-ospedaliero. • Lubo è il primo dispositivo non invasivo

in grado di aprire le vie aeree imitando la manovra di sublussazione della mandibola e proteggendo al contempo il rachide cervicale.

• Utilizzare su adulti in eventi traumatici ogni volta che si sospetta una lesione del rachide cervicale e vi sia la necessità di garantire la pervietà delle vie aeree o in caso di eventi traumatici che richiedono l’apertura delle vie aeree.

• Compatto, adattabile in varie dimensioni, piatto per lo stoccaggio, monouso (usa e getta) e radiotrasparente.

• Applicabile da un singolo operatore sanitario. La manovra di sublussazione meccanica della mandibola agevola la rianimazione da parte di un singolo operatore sanitario.

• Utilizzabile come collare cervicale con o senza apertura delle vie aeree.

• Lubo consente l’esecuzione dell’intubazione.

Le soignant doit donc vérifier régulièrement qu’il convient à l’état du patient. En cas de doute, consulter un médecin. Procéder avec soin en cas de soupçon de fracture de la mâchoire.

Avantages et utilisation• Voies respiratoires externes en

préhospitalier avec collier cervical. • Lubo est le premier appareil non-invasif

permettant l’ouverture des voies respiratoires en imitant le déplacement de la mâchoire inférieure vers l’avant, tout en protégeant la colonne cervicale.

• Utilisation sur des patients adultes présentant un traumatisme avec lésion présumée de la colonne cervicale et nécessitant l’ouverture des voies respiratoires, ou cas de traumatisme quelconque exigeant l’ouverture des voies respiratoires.

• Appareil monobloc, à taille réglable, rangement à plat, usage unique (jetable) et radiotransparent.

• La mise en place nécessite un seul soignant. Cet appareil jetable, pourvu d’un mécanisme de déplacement de la mâchoire inférieure vers l’avant, permet au soignant d’assurer la réanimation.

• L’appareil peut être utilisé comme collier cervical, avec ou sans ouverture des voies respiratoires.

• Lubo permet l’intubation.

Montage et configuration du collier LUBOPréparation du LuboRetirez le Lubo de son emballage et posez l’appareil de manière à ce que les composants soient visibles. Daher sollte der Pfleger regelmäßig überprüfen, ob der Kiefer-Handgriff weiterhin für den Zustand des Patienten geeignet ist. Im Zweifelsfall sollte man einen Arzt zu Rate ziehen. In Fällen mit Verdacht auf eine Kieferfraktur ist Vorsicht geboten.
