1 Introduction

1.1 INTENDED USE

LUCAS Stabilisation Strap is intended to be used in conjunction with LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor to provide means of stabilising LUCAS relative to the patient when LUCAS is active.

LUCAS Stabilisation Strap will prevent downward movement of LUCAS during operation.

LUCAS Stabilisation Strap can be used in most situations where LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor is used.

1.2 CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do NOT use LUCAS Stabilisation Strap under circumstances where it is judged that it might obstruct or delay any medical treatment of the patient.

1.3 ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTATION

Refer to LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor, Instructions for Use for details of LUCAS and instructions for its use.

1.4 LUCAS STABILISATION STRAP

LUCAS Stabilisation Strap is a portable product for stabilising LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor to the patient during compressions. It can conveniently be stored and transported in the same carrying bag as LUCAS. LUCAS Stabilisation Strap is shown in Figure 1 on next page.


1.5 DESCRIPTION

LUCAS Stabilisation Strap consists of a support cushion with two straps (called support cushion straps), and two separate device straps (see Figure 1). The device straps are attached to the support legs of LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor with buckles.

An extra buckle on each of the device straps is used to connect to the support cushion straps. To minimise set-up time, the device straps should always be attached to the support legs of LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor.

1.5.1 DELIVERED ITEMS

The LUCAS Stabilisation Strap package contains the following items:

• One support cushion.

• Two device straps.

• Instructions for Use in relevant language versions.

1.5.2 USING LUCAS STABILISATION STRAP

When compressions with LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor have been started, the support cushion is placed under the patient’s neck, and the support cushion straps are fastened to the device straps. See instructions in Section 4.

1.5.3 STORAGE

LUCAS Stabilisation Strap should be stored in the LUCAS carrying bag. See packing instructions in Section 6.

1.6 THE LUCAS TEAM

Two persons are required when attaching LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, and at the same time surveilling the operation of LUCAS.

The Instructions for Use will refer to “The LUCAS team”, consisting of two people who have the required skills stated on page 1.

2 Preparing LUCAS Stabilisation Strap for use

Before the first use of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, attach both device straps to the support legs, using the following procedure:

1. Fold the device strap around the support leg.

2. Fasten the buckle on the inside of the support leg, and check that it is fixed.

3. Make sure that you can move the extra buckle on the device strap from side to side on the outside of the support leg.

3 Warnings and precautions

ImportantThis section contains safety information. All users must read this section before using LUCAS Stabilisation Strap and observe the

safety information at all times during use.

Section 3.1 summarises the most severe hazards during assembly and use of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap.

Additional hazards are described in relevant sections of the Instructions for Use. All users must observe the safety information in Warnings and Cautions during use of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap.


3.1 USING LUCAS STABILISATION STRAP

WARNING – IMPROPER USEImproper use of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap can cause serious

injury to the patient and ineffective chest compressions.

Jolife AB strongly recommends that LUCAS Stabilisation Strap only be used by personnel who have undertaken training in use

and handling of LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor.

Other personnel may assist those with the necessary training in using LUCAS.

WARNING – PATIENT INJURY OR DEATHThe use of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap does not mean that you

can pay less attention to the patient.Do not leave the patient or LUCAS External Cardiac

Compressor unattended while LUCAS is active.Particularly, make sure that LUCAS does not move on the patient. If the position of LUCAS is changed, correct the

position according to LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor, Instructions for Use.

WARNING – IMPAIRED VENTILATION OF PATIENT Do not use LUCAS Stabilisation Strap if this impairs the

ventilation of the patient.

4 Using LUCAS Stabilisation Strap

4.1 INTRODUCTION

This section gives instructions for attaching LUCAS Stabilisation Strap to LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor during treatment of a patient with LUCAS.

Please refer to LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor, Instructions for Use, for details on the use of LUCAS.

Always work in a pair, one person on each side of the patient.

4.2 ATTACHING LUCAS STABILISATION STRAP

WARNING – DO NOT DELAY LIFE SUPPORT ACTIONSBefore unpacking and attaching LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, make sure that all life-supporting actions have been taken. Particularly, LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor must be

applied to the patient and performing compressions under the supervision of one person of the LUCAS team.

If the application of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap threatens to delay the treatment of the patient, it should be applied later or

not at all.

Begin by taking out LUCAS Stabilisation Strap from the LUCAS carrying bag. Follow the instructions below to attach the Stabilisation Strap to LUCAS (see illustrations in Figure 6 on the opposite page).

1. Lift the patient’s head carefully and place the support cushion under the patient’s neck, as close to the patient’s shoulders as possible.

2. Make sure that the support cushion ends rest on the patient’s shoulders.

3. Move the buckles on the device straps towards the patient’s head.

4. Connect the buckles on the support cushion straps to the device straps. Make sure that the straps are not twisted.

WARNING – IMPAIRED VENTILATION OF PATIENTNever tighten the support cushion straps so much that this

impairs the ventilation of the patient.

5. Tighten the support cushion straps firmly, while holding the support legs of LUCAS. Make sure that the position of LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor and the position of the suction cup on the patient, do not change.

6. Verify that the support cushion straps are properly fastened to the support legs of LUCAS.

7. Visually check the position of the suction cup: The lower edge of the suction cup should be positioned immediately above the end of the sternum. The suction cup should be centered over the sternum. Refer to Section 4.2.1 if the suction cup needs to be adjusted.

WARNING – LIFTING THE PATIENTLUCAS Stabilisation Strap must never replace a person

supporting the patient’s head. Always lift a patient and LUCAS according to LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor, Instructions

for Use.

WARNING – TRIPPING ON STRAPSMind your step to avoid tripping on the support cushion straps,

or unintentionally tightening the straps, when lifting the patient.

4.2.1 IF THE POSITION OF THE SUCTION CUP IS NOT CORRECT

Refer to LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor, Instructions for Use, for details on adjusting the position of LUCAS relative to the patient.

1. Turn the ON/OFF knob to the (Adjust) position.

2. Release the support cushion straps from LUCAS.

3. Adjust to correct position of the suction cup on the sternum.

4. Start compressions.

5. Extend the support cushion straps by pulling the buckles to the end positions of the straps.

6. Re-attach LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, see Section 4.2.

5 Care after use

This section describes the routines that should be performed by the user after each use of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, before packing it into the carrying bag.

5.1 CLEANING ROUTINES

5.1.1 NORMAL CLEANING PROCEDURE

1. Clean all surfaces of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap using a soft cloth, wetted in warm water containing a mild cleaning agent.

2. Wipe all surfaces with a clean moist cloth.

3. If necessary, remove the device straps from LUCAS and clean separately. After cleaning, re-attach the device straps to the support legs (see Section 2).

5.1.2 DISINFECTION

WARNING – HAZARDS DURING DISINFECTIONAlways wear appropriate protective clothing during

disinfection of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap. Follow the handling instructions from the manufacturer of the disinfectant.

The normal cleaning procedure is sufficient after “normal” soiling. If LUCAS Stabilisation Strap is blood-stained or if an infectious patient has been treated, the product should also be disinfected using 45% isopropyl alcohol with added detergent.

5.1.3 DISINFECTION PROCEDURE

After cleaning LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, disinfect it using the following procedure:

1. Wipe all surfaces of the product using a cloth wetted with the disinfectant solution.

2. Allow LUCAS Stabilisation Strap to dry before packing into the bag.

5.2 ROUTINE CHECKS

After each use and once a week, the following checks should be performed. Sign each item on the sheet attached in Appendix A:

1. Check that LUCAS Stabilisation Strap is clean.

2. Verify that the device straps are fitted correctly as shown in Figure 4.

3. Make sure that the support cushion straps are extended, to speed up the next application of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap.

5.3 STORAGE

Always store LUCAS Stabilisation Strap together with LUCAS in the carrying bag (See packing instructions in Section 6). LUCAS Stabilisation Strap should not be exposed to dirt or moisture during storage.


6 Packing away the Stabilisation Strap

After cleaning and, if necessary, disinfection, pack LUCAS Stabilisation Strap together with LUCAS in the bag:

1. Pack LUCAS according to instructions in LUCAS External Cardiac Compressor, Instructions for Use.

2. To speed up the next application of LUCAS Stabilisation Strap, extend the support cushion straps by pulling the buckles to the end positions of the straps.

3. Lift the gas hose and place LUCAS Stabilisation Strap in front of the suction cup. Put the rolled-up gas hose back on top of the Stabilisation Strap.

4. Close the bag.

Use this protocol for the weekly check on LUCAS Stabilisation Strap and the check after use. Store the completed checklist. Copying of this sheet is permitted.

If any error cannot be corrected, take LUCAS Stabilisation Strap out of operation and indicate the problem in the “Serious problem” column. Then immediately contact your distributor for advice or to order a new product (see addresses at the end of the Instructions for Use).

1 Inleiding

1.1 BEOOGD GEBRUIK

LUCAS stabilisatieriem moet worden gebruikt in combinatie met LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel om LUCAS ten opzichte van de patiënt te stabiliseren wanneer LUCAS actief is.

LUCAS stabilisatieriem voorkomt omlaagbewegen van LUCAS tijdens gebruik.

LUCAS stabilisatieriem kan worden gebruikt in de meeste situaties waarin LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel wordt gebruikt.

1.2 CONTRA-INDICATIES

Gebruik LUCAS stabilisatieriem niet onder omstandigheden waarin wordt geoordeeld dat LUCAS stabilisatieriem een medische behandeling van de patiënt kan belemmeren of vertragen.

1.3 GERELATEERDE DOCUMENTATIE

1.4 LUCAS STABILISATIERIEM

LUCAS stabilisatieriem is een draagbaar product voor het stabiliseren van LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel ten opzichte van de patiënt tijdens compressies. Het kan gemakkelijk worden bewaard en vervoerd in dezelfde rugzak als LUCAS. LUCAS stabilisatieriem wordt in Afbeelding 1 op de volgende pagina getoond.


1.5 BESCHRIJVING

LUCAS stabilisatieriem bestaat uit een steunkussen met twee steunkussenriemen en twee apparaatriemen (zie Afbeelding 1). De apparaatriemen zijn met gespen aan de steunarmen van LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel bevestigd.

Een extra gesp aan elk van de apparaatriemen wordt gebruikt om vast te maken aan de steunkussenriemen. De apparaatriemen moeten altijd aan de steunarmen van LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel worden bevestigd om de voorbereidingstijd zo kort mogelijk te houden.

De verpakking van LUCAS stabilisatieriem bevat de volgende onderdelen:

• Gebruiksaanwijzing in de van toepassing zijnde taalversies.

1.5.2 GEBRUIK VAN LUCAS STABILISATIERIEM

Wanneer compressies met LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel zijn begonnen, wordt het steunkussen onder de nek van de patiënt geplaatst en worden de steunkussenriemen aan de apparaatriemen vastgemaakt. Zie de aanwijzingen in hoofdstuk 4.

1.5.3 BEWAREN

LUCAS stabilisatieriem moet worden bewaard in de LUCAS rugzak. Zie de verpakkingsinstructies in hoofdstuk 6.

1.6 HET LUCAS TEAM

Voor het bevestigen van LUCAS stabilisatieriem en het tegelijkertijd controleren van de werking van LUCAS zijn twee personen vereist.

De gebruiksaanwijzing verwijst naar het “LUCAS-team”, bestaande uit twee personen met de benodigde vaardigheden vermeld op bladzijde 1.

2 LUCAS stabilisatieriem voor gebruik voorbereiden

Voordat u LUCAS stabilisatieriem voor het eerst gebruikt, bevestigt u beide apparaatriemen aan de steunarmen. Ga daarbij als volgt te werk:

1. Wikkel de apparaatriem om de steunarm.

2. Maak de gesp aan de binnenkant van de steunarm vast en controleer dat deze goed vastzit.

3. Zorg ervoor dat u de extra gesp op de apparaatriem van de ene naar de andere kant op de buitenkant van de steunarm kunt bewegen.

3 Waarschuwingen en voorzorgsmaatregelen

BelangrijkDit hoofdstuk bevat veiligheidsinformatie. Alle gebruikers

moeten dit hoofdstuk doorlezen alvorens LUCAS stabilisatieriem te gebruiken en moeten tijdens het gebruik de

veiligheidsinformatie steeds in acht nemen.

Hoofdstuk 3.1 vermeldt de ernstigste risico’s tijdens montage en gebruik van LUCAS stabilisatieriem.

Overige risico’s worden beschreven in de relevante hoofdstukken van de gebruiksaanwijzing. Alle gebruikers moeten de veiligheidsinformatie in Waarschuwingen en Voorzorgsmaatregelen in acht nemen tijdens het gebruik van LUCAS stabilisatieriem.


3.1 GEBRUIK VAN LUCAS stabilisatieriem

WAARSCHUWING – ONJUIST GEBRUIKOnjuist gebruik van LUCAS stabilisatieriem kan de patiënt

ernstig letsel toebrengen en leiden tot inefficiënte hartmassage.

Jolife AB adviseert met klem dat LUCAS stabilisatieriem uitsluitend wordt gebruikt door medewerkers die een opleiding hebben gevolgd voor het gebruik en de bediening van LUCAS

extern hartmassagetoestel.

Andere medewerkers kunnen optreden als assistent van personen met de vereiste opleiding voor het gebruik van

LUCAS.

4 Gebruik van LUCAS stabilisatieriem

4.1 INLEIDING

Dit hoofdstuk bevat instructies voor het bevestigen van LUCAS stabilisatieriem aan LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel tijdens behandeling van een patiënt met LUCAS.

Raadpleeg LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel, Gebruiksaanwijzing, voor meer informatie over het gebruik van LUCAS.

Werk altijd met twee personen, aan elke kant van de patiënt één.

4.2 BEVESTIGEN LUCAS STABILISATIERIEM

WAARSCHUWING – STEL REANIMATIEHANDELINGEN NIET UIT

Zorg ervoor dat alle reanimatiehandelingen zijn uitgevoerd voordat u LUCAS stabilisatieriem uitpakt en bevestigt. Met

name moet LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel op de patiënt worden toegepast en moet hartmassage worden uitgevoerd

onder toezicht van één persoon van het LUCAS-team.

Als de toepassing van LUCAS stabilisatieriem de behandeling van de patiënt dreigt te vertragen, moet deze later worden

toegepast of moet toepassing achterwege blijven.

Begin met LUCAS stabilisatieriem uit de LUCAS rugzak te nemen. Volg de onderstaande instructies om de Stabilisatieriem aan LUCAS te bevestigen (zie afbeeldingen in Afbeelding 6 op de pagina hiernaast).

1. Til het hoofd van de patiënt zorgvuldig op en plaats het steunkussen onder de nek van de patiënt, zo dicht mogelijk bij de schouders van de patiënt.

2. Zorg ervoor dat het uiteinde van het steunkussen op de schouders van de patiënt rust.

3. Verplaats de gespen op de apparaatriemen in de richting van het hoofd van de patiënt.

4. Koppel de gespen van de steunkussenriemen aan de appaatriemen. Zorg ervoor dat de riemen niet gedraaid zijn.

Trek de steunkussenriemen nooit zo strak aan dat hierdoor de luchttoevoer naar de patiënt wordt belemmerd.

5. Trek de steunkussenriemen stevig aan, terwijl u de steunarmen van LUCAS vasthoudt. Zorg ervoor dat de positie van LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel en de positie van de suction cup op de patiënt niet verandert.

6. Controleer dat de steunkussenriemen goed zijn vastgemaakt aan de steunarmen van LUCAS.

7. Controleer de positie van de suction cup visueel: De onderrand van suction cup dient direct boven het uiteinde van het sternum te worden geplaatst. De suction cup dient boven het midden van het sternum te worden geplaatst. Raadpleeg hoofdstuk 4.2.1 als de suction cup moet worden aangepast.

een persoon die het hoofd van de patiënt ondersteunt. Til een patiënt en LUCAS altijd op overeenkomstig LUCAS extern

4.2.1 ALS DE POSITIE VAN DE SUCTION CUP NIET CORRECT ISRaadpleeg LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel, Gebruiksaanwijzing voor meer informatie over het aanpassen van de positie van LUCAS met betrekking tot de patiënt.

1. Draai de AAN/UIT-knop in de stand (Instellen).

2. Maak de steunkussenriemen los van LUCAS.

3. Pas deze aan om de positie van de suction cup op het sternum te corrigeren.

4. Begin met de hartmassage.

5. Verleng de steunkussenriemen door de gespen naar de eindposities van de riemen te trekken.

6. Maak LUCAS stabilisatieriem opnieuw vast, zie hoofdstuk 4.2.

5 Verzorging na gebruik

In dit hoofdstuk worden de handelingen beschreven die moeten worden uitgevoerd na elk gebruik van LUCAS stabilisatieriem, voordat u het toestel in de rugzak opbergt.

5.1 REINIGING

5.1.1 NORMALE REINIGINGSPROCEDURE

1. Reinig de buitenkant van LUCAS stabilisatieriem met een zachte doek die is bevochtigd met warm water en een mild reinigingsmiddel.

2. Neem alle oppervlakken af met een schone, vochtige doek.

3. Zo nodig verwijdert u de apparaatriemen van LUCAS en reinigt u deze apart. Maak de apparaatriemen na de reiniging opnieuw aan de steun-armen vast (zie hoofdstuk 2).

5.1.2 DESINFECTIE

WAARSCHUWING – GEVAREN TIJDENS DESINFECTIEDraag tijdens de desinfectie van LUCAS stabilisatieriem altijd geschikte beschermende kleding. Volg de gebruiksaanwijzing

van de fabrikant van het desinfecterend middel op.

De normale reinigingsprocedure volstaat na normale verontreiniging. Als LUCAS stabilisatieriem verontreinigd is met bloed of als er een besmette patiënt is behandeld, dient het product ook te worden gedesinfecteerd met 45% isopropylalcohol met toegevoegd reinigingsmiddel.

5.1.3 DESINFECTERINGSPROCEDURE

Desinfecteer LUCAS stabilisatieriem na de reiniging als volgt:

1. Veeg de buitenkant van het product volledig af met een doek die is bevochtigd met het desinfecterende middel.

2. Laat LUCAS stabilisatieriem drogen voordat u deze in de rugzak opbergt.

5.2 ROUTINECONTROLES

Na elk gebruik en eenmaal per week dienen de volgende controles te worden uitgevoerd. Teken elk punt af op het bijgesloten formulier in Appendix A:

1. Controleer dat LUCAS stabilisatieriem schoon is.

2. Controleer dat de apparaatriemen correct zijn aangebracht zoals getoond in Afbeelding 4.

3. Zorg ervoor dat de steunkussenriemen verlengd zijn, zodat u LUCAS stabilisatieriem de volgende keer sneller kunt gebruiken.

5.3 BEWAREN

Bewaar LUCAS stabilisatieriem altijd samen met LUCAS in de rugzak (zie verpakkingsinstructies in hoofdstuk 6). LUCAS stabilisatieriem mag tijdens het bewaren niet worden blootgesteld aan vuil of vocht.


6 Stabilisatieriem opbergen

Berg LUCAS stabilisatieriem samen met LUCAS na de reiniging en (indien nodig) desinfectie in de rugzak op:

1. Verpak LUCAS overeenkomstig de instructies in LUCAS extern hartmassagetoestel, Gebruiksaanwijzing.

2. Verleng de steunkussenriemen door de gespen naar de eindposities van de riemen te trekken, zodat u LUCAS stabilisatieriem de volgende keer sneller kunt gebruiken.

3. Til de gasslang op en plaats LUCAS stabilisatieriem voor de suction cup. Plaats de opgerolde gasslang boven op de Stabilisatieriem.

4. Sluit de zak.

Gebruik dit protocol voor de wekelijkse controle van LUCAS stabilisatieriem en voor de controle na gebruik. Bewaar de ingevulde checklist. Kopiëren van dit formulier is toegestaan.

Als een storing niet kan worden verholpen, neemt u LUCAS stabilisatieriem buiten gebruik en vermeldt u het probleem in de kolom “Ernstig probleem”. Neem vervolgens onmiddellijk contact op met uw leverancier voor advies of het bestellen van een nieuw product (zie adressen aan het eind van Gebruiksaanwijzing).

1 Introduction

1.1 INDICATION D’UTILISATION

La Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS est destinée à être utilisée conjointement avec le Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS : elle vise à stabiliser le LUCAS par rapport au patient, lors du fonctionnement de cet appareil.

La Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS empêche le LUCAS de glisser vers le bas pendant l’utilisation.

Elle peut être utilisée dans la plupart des cas d’utilisation du Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS.

1.2 CONTRE-INDICATIONS

N’utilisez PAS la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS si vous estimez que cela risque de faire obstacle au traitement médical du patient ou de retarder ce traitement.

1.3 DOCUMENTATION ASSOCIÉE

1.4 SANGLE DE STABILISATION LUCASLa Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS est un produit portable, destiné à maintenir le Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS contre le patient pendant les com-pressions. A des fins de commodité, il est possible de la ranger et de la trans-porter dans le sac de transport du LUCAS. La Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS est illustrée à la Figure 1, page suivante.


1.5 DESCRIPTION

La Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS est formée d’un coussin de support auquel sont fixées deux sangles (sangles du coussin de support) et de deux sangles supplémentaires pour l’appareil (voir la Figure 1). Les sangles de l’appareil comportent des boucles permettant de les attacher aux pieds du Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS.

Chacune des sangles de l’appareil est en outre munie d’une deuxième boucle à fixer aux sangles du coussin de support. Pour réduire le temps de mise en place, les sangles de l’appareil doivent toujours être attachées aux pieds de support du Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS.

1.5.1 ELÉMENTS LIVRÉS

Le colis de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS contient les éléments suivants :

• Un coussin de support

• Deux sangles destinées à l’appareil

• Instructions d’utilisation dans la langue du pays

1.5.2 UTILISATION DE LA SANGLE DE STABILISATION LUCASUne fois le Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS en marche, placez le coussin de support sous le cou du patient et attachez les sangles du coussin à celles de l’appareil. Reportez-vous aux instructions du paragraphe 4.

1.5.3 STOCKAGE

Il est recommandé de ranger la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS dans le sac de transport du LUCAS. Reportez-vous aux instructions de rangement du paragraphe 6.

1.6 EQUIPE LUCASDeux personnes doivent attacher la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS tout en surveillant le fonctionnement du LUCAS.

Dans ces instructions d’utilisation, « l’équipe LUCAS » désigne un binôme disposant des compétences requises (voir page 1).

2 Préparation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS en vue de son utilisation

Avant la première utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS, attachez les deux sangles de l’appareil aux pieds de support en respectant la procédure suivante :

1. Enroulez la sangle autour du pied de support.

2. Serrez la boucle à l’intérieur du pied de support et assurez-vous qu’elle est bien fixée.

3. Vérifiez que la deuxième boucle de la sangle peut se déplacer d’un bord à l’autre de la face extérieure du pied de support.

3 Avertissements et précautions d’utilisation

ImportantCe paragraphe regroupe les consignes de sécurité. Avant d’utiliser la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS, tous les utilisateurs doivent lire

ce paragraphe et observer les consignes de sécurité tout au long de l’utilisation.

Le paragraphe 3.1 résume les risques les plus importants lors de la mise en place et l’utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS.

Les autres risques potentiels sont décrits dans les paragraphes concernés de ces instructions d’utilisation. Lors de l’utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS, tous les utilisateurs doivent observer les consignes de sécurité indiquées dans les Avertissements et les Précautions d’utilisation.


3.1 UTILISATION DE LA SANGLE DE STABILISATION LUCAS

AVERTISSEMENT : MAUVAISE UTILISATIONToute utilisation incorrecte de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS

peut exposer le patient à des blessures graves et rendre inefficaces les compressions thoraciques.

Conformément aux recommandations de Jolife AB, la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS doit être utilisée uniquement par des

personnes ayant suivi une formation adaptée à l’utilisation et à la manipulation du Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS.

En revanche, une autre personne peut assister le personnel ayant été formé à l’utilisation du LUCAS.

AVERTISSEMENT : BLESSURE OU DÉCÈS DU PATIENTL’utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS ne justifie pas

un relâchement de la surveillance du patient.Ne laissez pas le patient ni le Compresseur cardiaque externe

LUCAS sans surveillance pendant le fonctionnement du LUCAS.

Veillez tout particulièrement à ce que le LUCAS reste bien fixé sur le patient et qu’il ne puisse pas bouger. Si la position du

LUCAS a changé, remettez-le correctement en place, conformément aux instructions du document Compresseur

cardiaque externe LUCAS, Instructions d’utilisation.

AVERTISSEMENT : ENTRAVE À LA VENTILATION DU PATIENT

N’utilisez pas la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS si elle bloque la ventilation du patient.

4 Utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS

4.1 INTRODUCTION

Ce paragraphe fournit les instructions à suivre pour attacher la au Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS lors du traitement d’un patient avec le LUCAS

Pour plus d’informations sur l’utilisation du LUCAS, reportez-vous au document Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS, Instructions d’utilisation.

Travaillez toujours en binôme (une personne de chaque côté du patient).

4.2 FIXATION DE LA SANGLE DE STABILISATION LUCAS

AVERTISSEMENT : PRENEZ IMMÉDIATEMENT TOUTES LES MESURES DE MAINTIEN DES FONCTIONS VITALES

Avant de déballer et d’attacher la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS, assurez-vous que toutes les mesures nécessaires au maintien

des fonctions vitales ont été prises. En particulier, le Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS doit être appliqué

sur le patient et exercer des compressions sous la surveillance d’un membre de l’équipe LUCAS.

Si l’utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS risque de retarder le traitement du patient, elle devra être appliquée

dans un second temps, ou ne sera pas appliquée.

Sortez la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS du sac de transport LUCAS. Respectez les instructions ci-dessous pour fixer la Sangle de stabilisation au LUCAS (voir les illustrations de la Figure 6, ci-contre).

1. Soulevez délicatement la tête du patient et placez le coussin de support sous son cou, le plus près possible des épaules.

2. Vérifiez que les extrémités du coussin de support touchent les épaules du patient.

3. Tirez les boucles des sangles de l’appareil vers la tête du patient.

4. Insérez les boucles des sangles du coussin de support dans celles des sangles de l’appareil. Veillez à ce que les sangles ne se tordent pas.

AVERTISSEMENT : ENTRAVE À LA VENTILATION DU PATIENT

Ne serrez pas les sangles du coussin de support trop fort, afin de ne pas bloquer la ventilation du patient.

5. Serrez fermement les sangles du coussin de support, tout en maintenant les pieds de support du LUCAS. Assurez-vous que le Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS et la ventouse sont fixés de telle manière qu’ils ne puissent pas bouger sur le patient.

6. Vérifiez que les sangles du coussin de support sont bien attachées aux pieds de support du système LUCAS.

7. Contrôlez visuellement la position de la ventouse : le bord inférieur de la ventouse doit être positionné à l’extrémité du sternum. La ventouse doit être centrée au-dessus du sternum. S’il est nécessaire d’ajuster la ventouse, reportez-vous au paragraphe 4.2.1.

AVERTISSEMENT : SOULÈVEMENT DU PATIENTLa Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS ne peut en aucun cas

remplacer une personne soutenant la tête du patient. Pour soulever le patient et le système LUCAS, respectez toujours les

instructions du document Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS, Instructions d’utilisation.

AVERTISSEMENT : NE PAS MARCHER SUR LES SANGLESLorsque vous soulevez le patient, veillez à ne pas marcher sur

les sangles et à ne pas les serrer par inadvertance.

4.2.1 MESURES À PRENDRE EN CAS DE MAUVAISE POSITION DE LA VENTOUSE

Pour obtenir plus d’instructions concernant le positionnement du système LUCAS sur le patient, reportez-vous au document Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS, Instructions d’utilisation.

1. Mettez le bouton MARCHE/ARRET en position (Ajustement).

2. Détachez les sangles du coussin de support du système LUCAS.

3. Placez la ventouse dans la position appropriée sur le sternum du patient.

4. Mettez l’appareil en marche.

5. Desserrez les sangles du coussin de support en faisant glisser les boucles jusqu’à leur extrémité.

6. Fixez à nouveau la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS (voir paragraphe 4.2).

5 Entretien après utilisation

Ce paragraphe décrit les tâches de routine à exécuter après chaque utilisation de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS, avant son rangement dans le sac de transport.

5.1 PROCÉDURES DE ROUTINE

5.1.1 PROCÉDURE DE NETTOYAGE NORMALE

1. Nettoyez toutes les surfaces de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS à l’aide d’un chiffon doux, humecté d’eau tiède contenant un dégraissant doux.

2. Essuyez toutes les surfaces à l’aide d’un linge humidifié propre.

3. Si nécessaire, retirez les sangles de l’appareil du système LUCAS et nettoyez-les séparément. Après le nettoyage, rattachez ces sangles aux pieds de support (voir paragraphe 2).

5.1.2 DÉSINFECTION

AVERTISSEMENT : RISQUES PENDANT LA DESINFECTIONPortez toujours des vêtements de protection appropriés pendant la désinfection de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS. Respectez

toujours les instructions de manipulation du fabricant du désinfectant.

La procédure de nettoyage normale est adaptée à des cas de souillures dites normales. Si la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS est tachée de sang ou a servi à traiter un patient contagieux, elle doit également être désinfectée avec de l’alcool isopropylique à 45 % mélangé à un détergent.

5.1.3 PROCÉDURE DE DÉSINFECTION

Une fois la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS nettoyée, désinfectez-la en respectant la procédure suivante :

1. Nettoyez toutes les surfaces extérieures avec un tissu imprégné de solution désinfectante.

2. Laissez sécher la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS avant de la ranger dans le sac.

5.2 CONTRÔLES QUOTIDIENS

Après chaque utilisation et une fois par semaine, effectuez les contrôles suivants. Parafez chaque point de la fiche fournie en Annexe A :

1. Contrôlez la propreté de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS.

2. Vérifiez que les sangles sont correctement fixées à l’appareil, conformément à la Figure 4.

3. Assurez-vous que les sangles du coussin de support sont détendues : cela accélérera la prochaine mise en place de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS.

5.3 STOCKAGE

Rangez toujours la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS avec le LUCAS dans le sac de transport (voir les instructions de rangement du paragraphe 6). La Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS ne doit pas être exposée à la saleté ni à l’humidité pendant la période de stockage.


6 Rangement de la Sangle de stabilisation

Après le nettoyage et, éventuellement, la désinfection, rangez la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS avec le LUCAS dans le sac :

1. Emballez le LUCAS suivant les instructions du document Compresseur cardiaque externe LUCAS, Instructions d’utilisation.

2. Pour accélérer la prochaine mise en place de la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS, desserrez les sangles du coussin de support en tirant les boucles jusqu’à l’extrémité de ces sangles.

3. Soulevez le tuyau du gaz et placez la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS devant la ventouse. Placez le tuyau enroulé sur la Sangle de stabilisation.

4. Fermez le sac.

CONTRÔLE HEBDOMADAIRE ET CONTRÔLE APRÈS UTILISATION

Respectez le protocole suivant pour contrôler la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS après chaque utilisation et une fois par semaine. Une fois la liste de contrôle complétée, rangez-la. La copie de cette fiche est autorisée.

Si vous ne parvenez pas à résoudre un problème, cessez d’utiliser la Sangle de stabilisation LUCAS et consignez le problème dans la colonne « Problème sérieux ». Contactez immédiatement votre distributeur pour obtenir des conseils de résolution du problème ou pour commander un nouveau produit (voir la liste des adresses à la fin des Instructions d’utilisation).
