Popular study directions in Lithuania

Majority of high-school graduates send requests to study social and medical sciences at universities, while almost similar number of people requests to study technologies.

Unpopular study directions There are some unpopular studies in

Lithuania, like farming, veterinary, physics and similar.

Our government is trying to make these study directions more popular.

Something more about studies

There are some study directions which are becoming more and more popular. One of such is IT technologies, few years ago hardly any of high-school graduates chose IT to study, but now it is becoming one of top study directions.

What about our universities, academies and colleges?

There are 17 universities, 4 academies and 21 colleges.

I actually think that’s a lot for Lithuania, because Lithuania is not so big, but we have variety of options to study, which is good.

Students’ opinion about their future studies.

Nowadays studying at university is like a fashion in Lithuania , more than two-thirds of students think about studies at university, while only almost one-fifth of respondents plan to study at college.
