Happy November Spouses!
It seems like this year is flying. I know it seems like that every year, but this year it seems especially true.
The wine tasting in October was an absolute blast. I hope everyone found a new favorite wine for the upcoming holidays! A very special thank you to Linda Mora and the Maintenance Group Spouses that hosted that very fun event.
Please remember to mark your calendars for two upcoming OSC events that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit! First, please join us and bring everyone you know to our shopping extravaganza on November 19 at Club 56. This event, hosted by the 62nd and 310th Fighter Squadron Spouses is open to ALL spouses and members of the community and is sure to make a dent on your Christmas shopping list. We will have vendors from all over the Valley and will be raffling off some great giveaways! Check out page 3 for more details!
In addition, our annual Wreath & Tree Raffle will be held on December 10 at 11:00 am at Club 56. This is another event that is open to the entire Luke community and friends. Please start saving the date for this important event now, as it is one of our biggest and MOST FUN fundraisers of the year!
Finally, I hope you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am very thankful for each and every one of you, for the friendship you have given me, and for the way our organization makes Luke AFB feel like home.

My name is Holly Walker, and I am excited to be serving with so many wonderful women on the LOSC board. It is such a privilege to be a part of an organization with such heritage and pride for our U.S. Air Force. My husband, Joe “Ranger” Walker, is assigned to the 309th FS, and we are so thankful to be a part of this great flying community. We are blessed with two beautiful daughters. Our oldest, Katie, is four and loves going to ballet, preschool, and flying with her daddy on the weekends. Caroline is our busy nine month old who is just discovering that she can crawl. They are full of life and bring us tremendous joy!

CHARITABLE OPPORTUNITIES!
“The purpose of the LOSC shall be to develop, organize, and sponsor charitable, educational, and social activities among the Luke AFB community. The goal is to collect and disseminate information of interest and value to its members, and to foster, protect, and preserve the ideals of charity, benevolence, and good fellowship in keeping with the ideals of the United States Air Force.”
Each month, the OSC provides a meal for 30-40 airmen who live in the dorms. If you and your squadron are interested in providing a meal for the dates below, please contact [email protected]. The dates for the Oasis Meals are below:

A few things to remember:
♥Your group is responsible for providing paper products, plastic utensils and paper cups for dinner.♥Your menu does not need to meet any dietary restrictions. You do not need to submit your menu before hand.♥ Please plan to prepare enough food for about 40 at the Cambridge House.♥ Try to stay away from pasta type dishes. Our families are served spaghetti & lasagna frequently. Each year, the OSC prepares dinner for the Ronald McDonald House. This year, we will be preparing meals on:

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
Bunco: Meets on base the 1st Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm at Thunderbolt Lanes. The next meeting will be on November 7 at 6:00 pm. Please RSVP to Robbin Swartz at (623) 537-4004 or [email protected].
Book Club: We will be reading Cuckoo’s Calling this month. Please contact Alissa at [email protected] if you are interested in joining us!
Mahjong: Come test your wits at this classic tile game from 9:00 am-2:30 pm every Friday. Contact Brenda Young at (623) 581-9052 for more information.
Golf Club: We are waiting for the weather to cool down a bit more! If you are interested in golf, please email Jen Alexander at [email protected].
Bowling: After five weeks of bowling Team #1 “ Elvis & the Gang “ are in first place with 15 ½ wins & 4 ½ loses. Members of Team #1 are Dottie Allen, Elvis & Joel Bledsoe. Team #3 “Wowies” are in second place with 12 wins & 8 loses. Members of Team #3 are Rosi Ingrassia, Jody Reher & Elaine Lafever. Joel Bledsoe has High Average with a 198 & Connie Stresing & Elaine Lafever have High Women’s average with a 142. Joel Bledsoe has men’s High Series Scratch with a 659 & High Game scratch with a 232. Connie Stresing has women’s Scratch Game with a 184 & Jody Reher has High Series Scratch with a 478. We need one bowler to join a team so if you are interested please contact Pudge Hoskins.
