LVISD: iPads for Administrators
Welcome and Introduction
Each participant has received a 32GB wifi and 3g enabled iPad.
This session will introduce you to the unit and it’s basic setup.
By the end of the session, participants should be able to operate the basic iPad functions and use it to be more productive in their position.
Getting Started
Log in to your computerGo to:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Setting Up
Save the install file and place it on your desktop.
Setting Up
Install the iTunes application with the default functions.
Once the installation is complete, open iTunes.
Once iTunes is open, plug your iPad into your computer.

Sleep/Wake button on the top right-hand corner of the iPad until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.

PDF “General Settings” in the shared 5“La Vega iPad Training” Dropbox folder online. Make sure you are familiar with what all of these do.

Wireless Set Up
Click on Settings (Screen 1).Click on Wi-Fi (at the top).Wait for the system to find wireless
networks. Then select “lavega-wire”Wait for it to be checked.I will enter the appropriate key
for you.Now you’re live!
The Basics
Locking the OrientationDouble tap the home button. That should pull up a list
of recently used application (this is for fast switching between apps). You can swipe left to see even older apps, or swipe right to get a little control panel.
On the left is the orientation lock/unlock button, and there's also easy access to brightness and iPod controls.
There is also a hard switch that will lock the orientation that is located next to the volume control on the top right side of the device.

1. In iTunes, click iTunes Store.2. In the iTunes Store, near
the top of the home page, click App Store.
3. Browse for an application, and then click Buy App (if it’s a free application, click Get App).
4. Connect your device to your computer. iTunes automatically syncs applications to it.

3. The device automatically syncs applications to your computer the next time you are connected.
Loading iTunes Card
Now that you have done your initial sync with your iPad, you need to load your iTunes card so you’ll have “credit” to purchase Apps with in the App Store.

In iTunes, go to the right hand corner and click on your email address and click “Redeem”.

Enter the number on the back of your iTunes card and click “Redeem”. Your account will be credited with the amount on your card.
