This season there are lots of new and exciting ways for children and families to have fun at the Lyric.

The UK’s best children’s theatre companies are here to entertain your under 7s plus there is plenty of activity-packed fun for all the family with Messy Play and new Party Play.

We are also opening our doors and welcoming you to our new Family Sundays

– so why not join us for a leisurely breakfast or brunch whilst we entertain the kids.

With something for everyone to enjoy this autumn we look forward to welcoming you to the Lyric very soon.

Everyone loves the weekend and we’re here to make them even better.We’ve got an exciting season of Saturday shows, full of stories and adventure, including the return of last year’s most popular shows Room on the Broom and The Princess and the Pea. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Also on Saturdays you can join us for our popular Messy Play workshops. Come and get messy with paint, glitter and glue. See page 14 for more details and look out for the to find out when workshops are happening.

Gerald the Giraffe is not a good dancer. He’s different from all the other animals and every year he dreads the great Jungle Dance. But one moonlit night Gerald discovers that all you need is a different song to dance to.

How the cat purred and how the witch grinned, as they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind. There’s a helpful dog, bird and frog, but will there be room on the broom for everyone?

A playful and comic adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s bedtime tale of a prince in search of a real princess, a tower of mattresses and, of course, a tiny pea.

Set off with two friends as they play dressing up and explore new places and adventures. But what happens when there can only be one Captain of the ship? A beautiful story of friendship told with an original soundtrack.

When Handa and her friend Akeyo go looking for Grandma’s black hen Mondi, they find two fluttery butterflies around the hen house, three stripy mice under the grain store, four little lizards behind the pots… But where is Mondi?

Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to fetch her poor dog a bone, but when she got there, the cupboard was bare… Or was it? Come on a nursery rhyme journey with puppets, singing teapots and a feast of musical treats.

The makers of the hit Don’t Let the Pigeon shows are back. Eddie the mouse sets off in search of Father Christmas. Along the way he dodges a cat, gets directions from a toy soldier and is given unexpected advice from a magical fairy.

We’re throwing open our doors on selected Sundays every month as we invite you and your family to our brand new Family Sundays.

You can see a show together and then let the children enjoy an activity whilst you take it easy or get involved. With a special weekend menu in Café Brera, why not treat yourself to a leisurely breakfast or brunch with the Sunday papers, whilst the children have fun in Messy Play or Party Play. With lots of other activities and special guest entertainers it’s a day of fun for all the family.

Top children’s theatre company Oily Cart are back at the Lyric with a new scrumptious production. Two playful bakers battle through flour snowstorms, forests of breadstick trees and jagged mountains of crust to meet marvellous dough characters as the aroma of Christmas baking fills the room.

Age Ranges Children can only be admitted with adult supervision. All our shows have age recommendations but these are guidelines only. We welcome babies, but if they cry we ask that you take them outside.

Food and Drink for Children and Families Café Brera at the Lyric is open every day. They offer children’s lunch boxes and also cater for children’s parties if you want to make your visit to the Lyric extra special. For more information call Café Brera on 020 8741 6835.
