Scripture Reflection 5th Sunday of Lent

March 17, 2013 Again we hear a Gospel story of the wondrous mercy of God. The woman caught in the act of adultery is judged and condemned. It is a story that resonates with current news from some parts of the world even today. Stonings and beheadings of women are reported with some regular-ity, often happening in place in which the dignity of women is given little regard. How we treat and honor one another is a sign of respect for the Creator who made us all. It is no wonder then that Jesus would caution those who would rush

to judgment. It is the Creator who is also the Judge.

MCO began with 15 requests for food boxes per week and has grown to 100 requests. Our success would not be possible if it weren’t for our pastors, parishioners, volunteers and benefactors. God Bless us as we begin our second year of almsgiving to our community.

Over 400 people packed into the parish hall of

St. Patrick Church on August 22, 2012 to hear

Tony Philips give his witness. Like the prodigal

son, Tony’s family welcomed him back after years

of alcohol and drug addiction. Tony credits the

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL: MARCH 17, FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT In today's Gospel Jesus says, "Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." Just as Jesus forgives, we must forgive and move on with our lives. Through your donation to St. Vincent de Paul we are able to assist those who may have sinned, but are moving forward in life towards a better tomorrow.
