“Meeting customer's needs” is the theme for the 2006

Masterbatch event, highlighting the key criteria which

should drive a masterbatch company's business strategy.

In an increasingly competitive market place, it is more

important than ever for masterbatch producers to work

to their strengths of providing fast, effective service and

innovative, cost saving products, which will make a real

difference to their customers. Masterbatch companies

must be able to rapidly respond to the fast changing

needs of their customers in terms of special effects,

colours and material properties.

For Masterbatch 2006 we have assembled speakers from

companies that are at the cutting edge of developments

for pigments, additives and machinery technology to

answer masterbatch producers needs and requirements

for new innovative products. The event, the only truly

international forum for the masterbatch industry, will pro-

vide an excellent opportunity for masterbatch producers

to discuss new ideas and concepts in added value mas-

terbatch products and delivering better service to the

customer. The increasing influence of branding at the

customer level and how this is driving developments in

the masterbatch industry, will also be discussed.

As always Masterbatch 2006 will also provide a chance to

review the status of the global masterbatch business.

How is business faring in Europe compared with the rest

of the world? What is the threat from emerging

economies in Turkey and Latin America? How are rising

energy and raw material costs affecting masterbatch

profitability? Are masterbatch companies prepared for

the downturn in the business cycle? Challenging ques-

tions that hopefully you will find some answers to at this

year's Masterbatch conference.

Above all though, Masterbatch 2006 will offer you the

chance to meet with more than 200 colleagues, friends

and business associates from around the world, to discuss

and exchange views. This year the event is being held in

the Swissotel in Zurich, Switzerland and I look forward to

welcoming you there.
