MALOLOS Kung pahayag nila ang pagbabatayan, kapwa sila nagwaging gobernador ng nagiisang lalawigan ng Bulacan sa halalan noong 2007.Sila ay sina dating Gob. Roberto Obet Pagdanganan, at Gob. Joselito JonjonMendoza na isang dating kapitan ng barangay. Si Mendoza ay iprinoklama bilang punong lalawigan, matapos ang bilangan ng boto noong 2007 nagsampa ng protesta si Pagdanganan sa Commission on Election(Comelec). Ayon sa desisyong ipinalabas noong Disyembre 1 ng Ikalawang Dibisyon ng Comelec, si Pagdanganan ang siyang nawagi. Sinabi ni Pagdanganan sa Mabuhay noon ding araw na iyon na dalawang linggo na lang ay mauuupo na muli siya bilang gobernador ng Bulacan. Dalawang linggo pa, baka lumabas na ang desisyon ng Comelec, ani Pagdanganan sa isang panayam matapos siyang magsumite ng kanyang Certificate of Candidacy (COC) sa Commission on Comelec. Siya ay tatakbo bilang kinatawan ng Unang Distrito ng lalawigan. Ipinaliwanag niya na anumang oras aysundan sa pahina 3

Sabay-sabay nagsumite ng COC ang mga kandidatoMALOLOS Muling nagmistulang piyesta sa harap ng tanggapan ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa Bulacan noong Nobyembre 30 kung kailan ay sabay-sabay na nagsipagsumite ng kanilang Certificate of Candidacy (COC) ang mga kandidato sa lalawigan. Naging parang piyesta dahil sa mga taga-suportang sumamat sumunod kanilang kandidato na, ayon sa ilan, ay hinakot. Ang ibang kandidato naman ay minabuting tahimik ang kanilang pagpunta sa Comelec. Samantala, namarkahan ng aksidente ng pagsabog ng mga kuwitis nang sumabog ang paputok na nasa likod ng isang pick-up truck ang parada ng Partido Del Pilar. Ang parada ay mula sa simbahan ng Barasoain patungo sa tanggapan ng Comelec sa loob ng bakuran ng kapitolyo. Suot ang mga kulay dilaw na damit at hawak ang mga plakard na nagpapahayag ng suporta sa mga kandidato ng Partido Del Pilar, halos 1,000 katao ang pumarada matapos ang isang misa sa simbahan ng Barasoain. Ang Partido Del Pilar ay isang lokal na lapiang pampulitika na itinatag noong 2003 ng grupo ni dating Gob. Josie Dela Cruz na muling kakandidato bilang gobernador. Siya ang nakatatandang kapatid ni Gob. Joselito Jon-jon Mendoza. Ang mga dilaw na damit na suot ng mga kandidato at tagasuporta ng Partido Del Pilar ay sumisimbolo sa kulay ng Liberal Party na ang ginagamit ding kulay pampulitika ay dilaw na siyang ginamit ng yumaong si Pangulong Corazon Aquino nang siya ay kumandidato noong 1986. Nakipag-coalisyon ang Partido Del Pilar sa Liberal Party noong Nobyembre 23. Ang nag-iisang anak na lalaki ni Pangulong Cory Aquino at pinaslang na Sen. Benigno S.Aquino Jr., na si Senador Benigno Noynoy Aquino III ang kandidato sa pagkapangulo ng LP sa May 10, 2010 elections. Ngunit, bukod sa mga nakasuot ng dilaw na damit ay may nasalit ding mga nakakulay pula. PARTIDO DEL PILAR Nakanagitiing nagpakuha ng larawan ang mga pangunahing kandidato ng Partido Del Pilar sa Bulacan. Sila ay sina (mula sa kaliwa) dating Guiguinto Mayor Ambrosio Boy Cruz na kakandidatong kongresista ng Ika-2 Distrito; Gob. Joselito Jon-jon Mendoza na kakandiMasigla ang simula ng parada ng Partido Del Pilar mula sa makasaysayang simbahan ng Barasoain. Ang kasamang drum and lyre band ang tumutugtog habang pumaparada at mayroon ding isang pulang pick up truck kung saan kasakay ang tatlong kalalakihang nagpapaputok ng mga kuwitis na sa bawat putok ay parang ipinababatid sa mga tao na nandito kami, ang inyong mga kandidato. Maayos ang parada, nakangiti ang bawat isamga pumaparada at mga nanunuod na nasa gilid ng kalyehanggang sa hindi inaasahang magsabugan ang mga kuwitis sa likod ng pick-up truck pagdating sa Crossing ng Malolos o sa kanto ng Paseo Del Congreso at MacArthur Highway. Ang mga kasapi ng Partido Del Pilar ay may 200 metro ang layo sa likod ng nasabing pick up truck. Ayon sa mga nakasaksi, sabay-sabay na nagputukan ang mga nakabalot na kuwitis nang madikit sa mitsa ng mga ito ang nagbabagang titis na sumasagitsit mula sa mga kuwitis na sinindihan at pumutok sa himpapawid. Walang inulat na nasaktan sa insidente dahil agad namang nakatalon mula sa likod ng pulang pick up truck ang tatlong lalaki. Ayon sa pulisya, walang nag-ulat sa kanila ng insidente. Hindi na rin nakita ng Mabuhay ang nasabugang sasakyan dahil umandar pa rin daw ito matapos ang nasabing pagsabog. Para sa ilang nakasaksi at nakabalita ng insidente, maituturing na isang masamang pangitain ang ibinabadya ng aksidenteng pagsabog ng mga kuwitis. Mendoza ay ipinag-utos na ang kalinisan sa loob ng bakuran ng kapitolyo, at kamakailan lamang ay ipinagbawal ang paggamit ng styropor sa loob ng nasabi ring bakuran upang mapangalagaan ang kapaligiran. Tahimik namang nagsumite ang COC si Bise Gob. Willy Alvarado, na kandidato bilang gobernador, kasama ang kanyang kandidato sa pagka-bise gobernandor na si Daniel Fernando noong Sabado, Nobyembre 28. Noong Martes ng umaga, Nobyembre 24 tahimik ding nagsumite ng kanyang COC si Jose Francisco Rivera na kandidato ng Partido ng Masang Pilipino bilang Bokal sa Ikalawang Distrito. Kasama ni Rivera ang kanyang ama na si Vicente C. Rivera Jr., ang dating kalihim ng Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). Ang batang Rivera ay minsan nang naglingkod bilang Bokal noong 2001-2004, kung kailan ay kinatawan niya sa Sangguniang Panglalawigan ang mga konsehal ng bayan at lungsod sa lalawigan. Si Francisco Rivera ay nahalal noon na konsehal ng Plaridel. Bandang hapon naman noong Martes nang magsumite ng kanyang COC bilang kinatawan sa Unang Distrito si dating Gob. Roberto Obet Pagdanganan, at noong gabi ng araw na iyon, nagsumite rin ng kanyang COC si Kint. Marivic Alvarado na nagnanais na muling mahalal na kinatawan ng Unang Distrito. DBfrom page 3

Bukod sa tugtog ng drum and lyre band, mayroon pa silang sound system na tumutugtog sa likod ng isang Elf truck. Dahil naman sa dami ng mga taga suporta ng partido, napigil ang daloy ng trapiko. Nang dumating naman ang isang grupo ng mga tao na nakasuot ng kulay asul na damit. Sila ay mga tagasuporta ni Salvador Pleyto na kandidatong kinatawan ng Lakas-Kampi-CMD para sa Ika-Apat na Distrito ng Bulacan. Pansamantalang nakaroon ng tensyon sa pagitan ng dalawang grupo nang magpalakasan sila ng pagsigaw ng pangalan ng mga kandidatong kanilang sinusuportahan, ngunit napigil din agad ang paglala nito ng mga mas malalamig ang ulo. Para naman sa mga nakamasid, pawang hinakot ang mga tagasuporta ng magkabilang grupo. Bilang patunay, sinabi nila :Nakauniporme na, may nakahanda pang pagkain. Habang nalalapit ang pananghalian, unti-unting dumalang ang mga tao sa kalsada. Ang mga nakakulay dilaw na tagasuporta ng Partido Del Pilar ay nagsipila sa pinagtabing tent sa likod ng mga kantina sa harap ng HBCC kung saan ay iprinisinta nila ang mga food stub nila kapalit ng isang maliit na kahon mula sa Jolibee na may lamang kanin at isang pirasong pritong manok. Sa di kalayuan naman ay ibinaba mula sa sasakyan ang pagkain para sa mga tagasuporta ni Linabelle Villarica na kandidato ng Partido Del Pilar bilang kinatawan sa

Ito ang mariing pahayag ni Susan Toots Ople, bunsong anak ng yumaong si Senador Blas F. Ople. Ang pahayag ay nagsilbing buod ng magkakahiwalay na pagkondena na ipinahayag ng mga mamamahayag sa buong mundo kabilang ang mga mamamahayag sa Bulacan na nagsagawa ng isang indignation at prayer rally sa Bulacan State University noong Miyerkoles, Dis. 2. Walang sapat na salita ang makapaglalarawan sa pamamaslang na ginawa sa Maguindanao dahil ang mga may gawa noon ay mga halimaw, ani ng batang Ople na pangulo ng Blas F. Ople Policy Center na kumakalinga sa Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Binigyang diin niya na walang kasalanan at walang malay ang 57 biktima ng Maguindanao massacre, upang makamtam ang brutal na pagkamatay. Isa sa kanila ay si Cecille Lechonsito na isang OFW na umuwi upang dumalo sa graduation ng anak. Nasabay lang ang sasakyan nila sa convoy, pero pinatay din sila, ani Toots na kandidato ng Nacionalista Party bilang senador. Kinokondena namin ang pamamaslang sa mga kababaihan, abogado at mamamahayag sa Maguindanao at hinihiling sa gobyerno ang isang madaliang imbestigasyon para sa hustisya hindi lamang para sa mga biktima sa Maguindanao, kundi maging sa mga mamamahayag at kababaihang pinaslang sa mga nagdaang panahon, ani ng isang pahinang pahayag. Sinabi pa sa pahayag na nakakapangamba ang Maguindanao massacre dahil sa mga nagdaang panahon ay paisa-isa lamang na mamamahayag ang pinapaslang, ngunit ngayon ay maramihan na. Ayon sa pahayag, malayo man ang Maguindanao sa Bulacan, hindi maiiwasan ang pangamba na pamarisan at isagawa ito sa lalawigan ng mga taong ang isipan ay kapahamakan sa kapwa. Inihalimbawa rin sa pahayag ang karanasan ni Erwin Bunag, isang media worker sa lalawigan na binaril at nasugatan sa Barangay Bagna, Malolos noong Nobyembre 21. Bilang tagapangulo ng NUJP-Bulacan Chapter, sinabi ng mamamahayag na ito na hindi na maaaring manahimik ang bawat Bulakenyo partikular na ang mga mamamahayag dahil ang pamamaslang at kawalan ng napaparusahan sa mga pamamaslang ay umabot na sa sukdulan. Binigyang diin din ng mamamahayag na ito at iba pang mamamahayag na nagsalita sa indignation rally sa BulSU na higit sa alinmang panahon, kailangang higit na maging mapagbantay ang mga mamamayan sa panahong ito dahil sa napapabayaan na ng gobyerno ang taumbayan. Ang Maguindanao massacre at pamamaslang sa iba pang mamamahayag sa mga nagdaang taon, anila, ay mga halimbawa ng kapabayan ng gobyerno at pagkukulang sa pagtupad ng kanilang tungkuling bilang pangunahing tagapagtanggol taongbayan. Narito naman ang pahayag hinggil sa Maguindanao massacre ng NUJPNational directorate, mga iba pang grupo ng mamamahayag, mga tanggapan ng radyo, telebisyon, at mga indibidwal na mamamahayag na tinipon ng NUJP . Ayon sa NUJP ang bru, tal na pamamaslang sa 57 katao sa bayan ng Ampatuan, Maguindano ay hindi lamang rido o away ng pamilya, sa halip ipinagkanulo nito ang paniniwala ng mga nasa likod ng pamamaslang na hindi sila nasasakop ng batas, dahil sa lawak ng walang patumanggang pagpatay Ayon pa sa NUJP ang , masaker ay nagpapakita lamang ng pag-abuso ng mga pamilya ng pulitiko na kumikilos bilang tagapamuno, hukom, hurado, at berdugo sa loob ng kanilang mala-pyudal na nasasakupan. Ito rin ay isang malinaw na palatandaan na ang puwersa ng estado ay nagbibigay proteksyon sa mga kriminal na kapanalig. Sinabi ng NUJP na hindi lamang usapin ng malayang pamamahayag, sa halip ay ang pundasyon ng demokrasya ang sinagasaan ng masaker sa Maguindanao. Para sa mga kasapi ng N UJ P- Z a m b o a n g a - B a silan-Sulu-Tawi-tawi, walang sapat na salita ang makapaglalarawan sa pagkondenang kanilang naipon laban sa mga nasa likod ng pamamaslang na ang malahalimaw na ugali ay walang katumbas sa kasaysayan ng Mindanao. Hiniling naman sa gobyerno at pulisya ng mga kasapi ng NUJP-Iligan City-Lanao Chapter noong Nobyembre 24 ang mabilisang pagpaparusa sa mga nasa likod ng masaker. Ganito rin ang sinabi ng NUJP-Cagayan de Oro noong Nobyembre 25 na nagsabing hindi nila mailarawan ang kanilang pagkagimbal at dalamhati. Sinabi pa nila na malahayop na pagpatay sa mga tao ay walang katumbas na kapaliwanagan. Ayon naman sa pahayag ng NUJP-Cebu kung ang terorismong ito ay naglalayong maghatid ng mensahe na takutin kaming mamamahayag, nagkakamali sila. Itinuturing namin itong pinakamadilim na bahagi ng ating demokrasya sa mga nagdaang panahon. Ang NUJP Cebu ay hindi titigil hanggat hindi nakakamtam ang katarungan para sa mga biktima ng masaker. Para sa Malacaang Press Corps, ang masaker ay terrible and sickening. Inayunan naman ito ng Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility sa kanilang pahayag kung saan ay kanilang sinabi na ang pagiging brutal at kawalang saysay ng pamamaslang ay kumakatawan sa nakakahiyang tala ng karahasan sa bansa. Tinanggihan din ng CMFR ang deklarasyon ng Malakanyang ng state of emergency sa Maguindanao sa paniniwalang maaaring maghatid iyon ng dagdag na karahasan at pagabuso sa mga mamamayan.

verio, sinabi ni Mendoza na ginamit ng mga ito ang impluwensiya at pera upang matalo siya sa protesta, dahil kakandidato siyang kongresista sa Ikatlong Distrito na mula pa noong 1992 ay teritoryo na ng mga Silverio. Masyado naman niyang minamaliit si Obet, maraming kaibigan si Obet dahil matagal na nag serbisyo sa gobyerno, ani Kint. Lorna Silverio patungkol kay dating Gob. Pagdanganan. Bakit kami ang pinalalabas niyang nanggugulo, ani ng kinatawan. Nananahimik kami dito sa District tapos dumating siya, at kami pa ngayon ang lumalabas na nanggulo sa kanya. Pinayuhan din ni Silverio si Mendoza. Mas maganda huwag siyang dumadayo sa ibang lugar at huwag siyang manggulo. Para naman sa mga kaalyado ng mga Silverio, naghahanap lamang ng damay ay si Mendoza. Bakit kung sino-sino ang idinadamay niya? Bakit hindi niya sagutin ng diretso yung protesta sa kanya? Pati yung pagkasunog ng kapitolyo noong 2007 elections? Ani ng mga taga-suporta ng mga Silverio na tumangging ipabanggit ang pangalan.

Samantala, may 60 residente ng bayan ng San Miguel ang nagsagawa ng vigil o pagbabantay sa harap ng kapitolyo noong Disyembre 4 bilang suporta kay Mendoza. Ayon kina Gregorio Adriano ng Barangay Poblacion; at Alfedo Dela Paz ng Barangay Camias sa San Miguel, naniniwala sila na malinis ang halalan noong 2007. Si Gob. Jon-jon ang nanalo noon at kami ay naniniwala sa kanyang katapatan, ani Adriano. Iginiit naman ni Dela Paz na sila ay mananatili sa harap ng kapitolyo bilang suporta kay Mendoza. Nilinaw din niya na sa kabila ng halos buong araw nilang pananatili doon ay hindi pa nila nakakaharap ang gobernador. Kabilang sa mga nagsasagawa ng vigil ay mga kababaihan. Sila ay nakasilong sa mga tent na nasa harap ng kapitolyo na ginamit noong Disyembre 3 ng gabi sa pormal na pag-iilaw sa higanteng Christmas tree na nakatindig doon. Maging ang mga mesa at silyang ginamit noong sinundang gabi ay hindi pa iniaalis sa harap ng kapitolyo noong Biyernes, kayat pansamantala iyong ginamit ng mga nagsasagawa ng vigil.

Bonifacio: Tunay na lalakiSA Bulacan, at iba pang lalawigang Tagalog, ang pagkalalaki ay hindi sinusukat sa taas ng napag-aralan, o sa mariwasa at kilalang angkang pinagmulan, sa taglay na kisig o galing magpaibig ng babae. Sa harap ng panganib nasusukat ang tunay na pagkalalaki, batay sa nagisnan kong tradisyon sa Bulacan: iyong walang pagaatubili at takot na sumaklolo ka sa isang mahal na may lumalapastangan. O hindi ka natatakot na ipagtanggol ang iyong dangal sa nais humamak dito. Sa mga dinadakilang bayani sa ating kasaysayan, si Andres Bonifacio ang isa sa maituturing na tunay na lalaki, ayon sa sukatang nabanggit sa itaas. Dont be afraid to junk R.H. billDEMOCRACY is freedom in search of inspiration. It waits to be given substance, meaning, orientation and direction. By itself, it simply is a mold, a system that requires a lifeblood to warm up and start functioning. It needs to be given life. So it depends on the vital elements of the citizens that have ithow they are as a people, their culture, their history, their beliefs and aspirations, their sense of life and purpose, etc. These get factored in and eventually get integrated into one workable whole through the democratic processes. It can only be perfect to the extent that the people involved in it are. It reflects and mirrors them. But it can also project and mold them. It collects the sentiments of the people, but it can also cause other sentiments too, generating a kind of spiral that is open-ended. That is why we have to take care of it. Democracy needs to be guided, and we the people involved, especially our leaders, should keenly feel the responsibility for it. Relevant to all this, let me quote some lines from John Paul IIs Centesimus Annus, kind of dense but I must say all worth it. Lets bear with it. Here it goes: Authentic democracy is possible only in a State ruled by law, and on the basis of a correct conception of the human person. It requires that the necessary conditions be present for the advancement both of the individual through education and formation in true ideals, and of the subjectivity of society through the creation of structures of participation and shared responsibility. Then it warns us of a clever attitude that actually undermines authentic democracy. Nowadays there is a tendency to claim that agnosticism and skeptical relativism are the philosophy and the basic attitude which correspond to democratic forms of political life. Those who are convinced that they know the truth and firmly adhere to it are considered unreliable from a democratic point of view, since they do not accept that truth is a determined by the majority, or that it is subject to variation according to different political trends. It must be observed in this regard that if there is no ultimate truth to guide and direct political activity, then ideas and convictions can easily be manipulated for reasons of power. Kindness in thought, word or deed means: external control of self with others as the norm, points out F.W. Faber. It is altruism, always proper, always virtuous. It always wins, is always right. It requires no thought, preparation. It is spontaneous. It deepens the spiritual life. It can be practiced by all; is never too late or early. It is grateful, appreciative, considerate, special because youre you, tolerant, sympathetic, courteous. John Wesley, on one of his countless journeys, shared a carriage with an Army officer. They had a lively interesting conversation, but the officers language was salted with swear words. Though it went against Wesleys grain, he showed no displeasure. When the coach stopped for a lunch break, Wesley used the opportunity to have a word with the officer. I wonder if I might ask you a favor, Wesley asked. We will be traveling some distance together, and if I should forget myself and use a swear word in front of the ladies, would you kindly correct me? The officer got the point immediately and painlessly. What Wesley did was kindness in words. A soldier of Alexander the Great was driving a heavily laden mule to the royal tent. The soldier, seeing that the burden was too great for the mule, took a bag from its back and carried it on his own shoulders. Alexander chanced to see the act, and was so pleased that he called the soldier over and said to him, That bag which you have on your shoulders is filled with gold. Take it as a gift from me. It is yours: you deserve it. Remember the golden rule: Do to others what you like others do to you. If you are kind to someone, he will be kind to you, too. Hundreds were bidding for every available job, no matter how menial. Beaten and afraid, they found themselves very much alone in a strange hardly-friendly new world. One such incident happens to a man who had been a high official in Cubas customs and immigration service. He had applied for work at a Miami hotel, hoping to be taken on as a bellboy or a dishwasher. The manager, who had been several times to Cuba, happened to recognize him. Werent you once in the Cuban customs office? he inquired. I will go to the market later and look for some strong but soft fibers that I can braid into an elegant belt for our Son. He stood up and left the house. BU call center training schoolWE must, as sovereign citizens who will elect (in May next year), the successor to the outgoing President, now ask ourselves this question. Indeed, WHO? Now we must ask for their competence instead! Traditionally, our political exercises lean heavily on personality politics. The average Filipino votes for a candidate because of personal relations with the candidate. Or because a friend knows or he relates to the candidate. Precisely because of this culture, we have steadily but unintentionally pushed our governmentover the past 63 years to a state of corruption and incompetence we now all want REFORM or CHANGE. However, we will not be able to achieve the changes unless we change our mindset first! Ask for the QUALIFICATIONS of the candidates, instead of considering his family background (name recall or winnability), popularity, money or campaign funds which translates to party machinery, and penchant to be helpful to the poor. In Tagalog, we want the candidate to be: madaling lapitan (approachable or inclined to help), maka-diyos (spiritual or believer in God), makatulungin (helpful), and maka-tao (who does not snob the poor). These are secondary qualifications. We must now think: the candidates for any elective office from the Presidency down to the lowly kagawad barangay are APPLYING FOR JOBS in every election. We, the citizen voters, are the stakeholders who must qualify them for the position. And we must scrutinize them for their competence. We are the supreme authority in the election because we pick who we want to work for U.S.. These candiates OWE us voters the favor of being chosen for the jobs. We do not owe them a favor. The candidates convince us we owe them a favor by giving us some cash on election day for our food or transport fares to and from the polling places. Bear in mind: without our votes these politicians will not be elected. Do not sell your right to vote for the officials you deserve. We must now ask: what is the track record or experience performance and competence of the candidate to deserve our votes? What has his statements been on specific issues relevant to development and national socio-economic-environmental and political progress? Is he qualified to occupy the position he seeks? The next president and vice president must work with the Congress (Senate and House of Representatives) and the Courts of law to govern us. By the way, our population will break the 100 milllion mark in 2013, or earlier. That means the next set of leadersspecially the President and Vice Presidentmust be able to solve the problem of our national indebtedness of more than P4 trillion and manage the cash flow that suffers from a revenue shortfall that we NEED to borrow more from the local and foreign capital markets. We will have both problems in food security and energy or power sufficiency as the demands of the burgeoning population gallops on! In addition, there is the peace and order problem in Mindanao, interlaced with separatism and Communist rebellion that is slowly deteriorating to plain bancontinued on page 2

Convergence of actionsELECTIONS are coming up next year, and the electorate will again be asked to re-elect incumbent executives or elect new ones. As usual, there will be a mad scramble of paid ads trying to tell the people what the candidates have done or what they could do. The tendency to use ads a means to tell the people about accomplishments or promises is an indication that these candidates do not really have apparent programs of actions that are already publicly known in the first place. How can we tell whether a local official is a good executive or not? For the lack of a better reference, we should just base our judgment on the compliance of their jurisdictions to the mandated national development programs, which are supposed to have localized translations in the first place. Take the case of the Medium Term Philippine Development Plan (MTPDP) for instance. As far as I know, the release of Internal Revenue Allocations (IRAs) is supposed to be tied in to the planning and delivery of local development plans, in theory that is. Another related measure is the compliance of local government units (LGUs) to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). As we try to measure how good the performance of a local executive is, we should bear in mind that they may be at liberty to come up with their own ideas as to what public service delivery programs they like, but that does not mean that they are free to disregard or depart from the context of the national plans, more so in the case of the MDGs, because this has international implications, given the fact that these measures are officially reported to the United Nations (UN). Generally speaking, it seems to be the practice of LGUs to come up with bits and pieces of development projects that are the products of their own imaginations, but these projects are seldom converged to take on the form of cohesive programs that would all add up to the outcome of meeting the basic needs of the people in their jurisdictions, in relation to the MTPDP and the MDGs. Meron pa kayang kasing sira ang ulo gaya ng mga gumawa ng karumal-dumal na krimen? Bakit ba ganon kabangis ang mga kandidato sa pag-aagawan sa posisyon sa gobyerno? Dahil ba sa yumayaman sila sampy ng kanilang pamilya, kamag-anak, kaibigan? Sino pa ba ang maniniwala sa mga sinasabi ng mga kandidato na gusto nilang magsilbi sa bayan at sa mamamayan? Paglilingkod sa bayan ay isa nang nakakatawang kasinungalingan. Hindi lamang mga pulitiko ang corrupt. Pati na mga botante. Hindi pa tumitilaok ang manok ay nakapila na sila sa bakuran ng kandidato. Naalala ko na taga-Guinayangan siya kaya hinanap ko ang bahay niya. Siya ay si Vice Mayor Salumbides. Nakiusap ako na kung pwede ay doon na ako magpalipas ng gabi kahit nakaupo lang sa silya sa sala. Mabait naman siya at kanyang pamilya at doon na ako pinatulog sa silid na kasama ang kanyang anak na babae. Nakalipas ang gabi at wala naman ang kinatatakutan kong mangyari. Kinabukasan, sumama na muli ako sa grupo. Papunta kami sa paanan ng bundok ng Banahaw at ang dinaraanan ay makikipot na landas at matataas na talahib sa magkabilang bahagi. Nang dumating kami sa lugar ng tipanan, sinalubong kami ng mga grupo ng mga magsasaka at nagdaos ng pag-uusap ang dalawang grupo. Matapos ang pag-uusap ay bumalik na kami sa Maynila na walang masamang nangyari. Mababait pa pala ang mga military noong Martial Law kaysa doon sa mga demonyo sa Maguindanao, naisip ko ngayon. Pagkatapos nakatanggap ako ng sulat mula kay Teresita San Gabriel de Luna na isa palang taga Baliwag na nakapangasawa ng taga Ginayangan, Quezon.
