Other types of guarding:-Lock Barrels, Containers, and Drums in placed-Exposure of Blades-Anchoring Fixed Machinery-Eye and Face Protection- Lockout/Tagout

- safe for work-properly switched off when not in use.

Other things you should consider:

- Ensure the control switches are marked-Have emergency stop controls-Machine is in its proper place-Handled by a trained worker

WHAT IS RISK?

Factors that increase the risk of hazard:-Lack of familiarity-Reaching into a machine to clear jams and misfeeds-Boredom and repetition-Frequent access to danger areas of the machine-Lack of operator training and experience-Machine cycle speed

Do’s-check the machine is well maintained and fit to be used-use the machine properly-make sure you are wearing the appropriate protective clothing and equipment

Don’ts-Use a machine that has danger sign-Wear inappropriate attire -Distract people-Remove any safeguard
