The RIONOTE Multifunction Measurement System can be used for measuring vibrations by connecting a piezoelectric accelerometer. Because the unit supports up to four input channels, simultaneous 3-axis measurement (such as for two horizontal axes and one vertical axis) or measurement at multiple locations can be easily realized. Thanks to its light weight (only about 1.2 kg), small dimensions, and battery driven operation, the RIONOTE is eminently portable, making vibration measurement and analysis in the field a snap. The illustration below shows a setup for measurement and FFT analysis of vibrations in rotational machinery. Measurement is carried out simultaneously at one point each for the horizontal (H) and axial (A) direction, and two points for the vertical direction. The extensive lineup of piezoelectric accelerometers offered by Rion includes many different types such as very small and lightweight units, high-temperature resistant units, and units with simultaneous output for three directions. This makes it possible to find exactly the right type for your application. Because the RIONOTE supports CCLD (Constant Current Linear Drive), accelerometers with integrated amplifiers can be connected directly. Charge output type accelerometers can be used via the Charge Converter VP-40. Vibration meters and charge amplifiers from Rion support not only acceleration but also velocity and displacement measurements. By connecting the AC output signal to the RIONOTE, analysis of acceleration, velocity, and displacement becomes possible. The wave recording function allows even more detailed FFT analysis of recorded waveforms, so that not only steady-state vibrations but also fluctuating vibrations can be analyzed.
