We are a privately owned business; our CEO previously built and sold one of the most successful search firms in the UK for £21m. This in turn means that we have the financial backing to support our ambitious growth targets. We are also a young company. Founded in 2005, most of our consultants are under 24 and this makes Mackenzie Stuart a vibrant and energetic place to work.

As one of the sector’s fastest growing search firms, we can additionally offer consultants unrivalled opportunities to fast track their career. In fact, we have a number of consultants who were promoted to management positions within their first 12 months in the business.

What’s more, Mackenzie Stuart is a true meritocracy in which progression is based solely on performance. In contrast to the industry norm, we took the decision not to recruit experienced recruiters. Instead, we prefer to select the best graduates

and then provide the highest standards of training. The outcome is a higher level of skill than at many other consultancies. This progressive approach to your development also guarantees that you will never see a manager recruited externally and parachuted in above you.

We are a true international business, with over 90% of our placements being made overseas, as far away as Australia. Whilst this was traditionally all done from our Leeds head office, in September 2014 we opened a new London office in the prestigious ‘1 Cornhill’ building opposite the Bank of England. There is the flexibility for our Leeds based consultants to both work out of the office when in London on business, as well as relocating to the office permanently. Longer term there are also plans to open an office in Sydney, Australia as well Houston in the USA.

If you work hard anything is possible in your first 12 months. Even a six figure salary.

We won’t deny that we work hard and that the hours are sometimes long and anti-social.

However, if you are prepared to make the grade and push your potential, the rewards are exceptional.

A number of recent graduates have managed to earn a six figure salary in their first year, and top performers with 1-2 years experience will also regularly achieve this feat.

Unlike some of our competitors, we also offer an uncapped commission structure. This pays up to 60% of the fee you generate and is based on your performance, not the performance of the team as a whole.

We play just as hard.

If you have what it takes to work at the highest level, you can look forward to a level of rewards to match. In addition to the money you can earn, we also run various employee incentive schemes. Here are just a few examples of what you can expect:

• The top consultant annually wins an all expenses, 5 star trip to Las Vegas or the Caribbean, with £2,000 spending money

• We run quarterly incentive programmes for top performers, recent examples include:

• York Races with full corporate hospitality

• A 5 star stay in Manchester, including a meal in a Michelin starred restaurant

• Test Match cricket at Headingley

• Attending World Title boxing contests

• On the last Friday of the month, if targets are hit we will take the day off, do an interactive activity such as company quiz or orienteering around Leeds, then pay for food and drinks for all staff at different venues in Leeds

• We have an annual end of year Black Tie Awards and Celebration night

• Annual Golf Day for both Leeds and London offices

• Top performers each month are recognised by attending a quarterly all expenses paid meal and afternoon out of the office at Gaucho restaurant
