Lara Landon

A California native, singer/songwriter Lara Landon moved to Nashville in her late teens, where she studied music at Belmont

University's acclaimed School of Music. Upon graduation, the songstress signed with newly formed Nashville-based label Bema Media,

launched by industry veteran and Essential Records founder Robert Beeson. She released her national debut project, Beloved, in

September of 2009 to critical and commercial success. The project featured an all-star line-up, including production by GRAMMY

Award-winning talent Michael Omartian (Amy Grant, Chicago, Rod Stewart, The Jackson’s, Whitney Houston) and co-writes with

Omartian, five-time SESAC Christian music Songwriter of the Year Jason Ingram as well as Dove Award-winning artist Plumb, among

others. Beloved turned out the popular radio single "Closer," which was No. 1 on the Family Life Radio network, and afforded Landon

touring opportunities across the country.

In addition to her music ministry, Landon serves as co-founder of non-profit organization New Reality International, which seeks to

provide physical, emotional and spiritual healing to those suffering from extreme poverty, disease and injustice worldwide

(www.newrealityinternational.org). She is also a featured speaker and artist for KINDLE, a special Christian music and leadership

experience that inspires women from every generation to come together to celebrate their talents, prepare for service and faithfully live

out The Great Commission.

Landon's latest project is sophomore studio record Overcome, to release May 1, 2012. Co-produced by Landon, in cooperation with

Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay), Steve Wilson (Josh Wilson, Johnny Diaz) and Brian Hitt (MIKESCHAIR) on select tracks, Overcome

showcases an eclectic yet cohesive pallet of lush arrangements and melodic, piano-driven pop, venturing into the folk realm but

ultimately more reminiscent of fellow female innovators Imogen Heap, Plumb and Kate Bush.

Love, peace and blessings, Lara

It’s an expression a medium that helps people to communicate about themselves, their work and all that go around. It’s a responsible platform that can make or break an image, a society. I joined media not with an intention to join it I was made for it a natural progression when I told my dad at16 I want to start a magazine. Lifting up the name of Jesus!

The Anointed Pace Sisters have received access to walk through many doors and opportunities. With appearances in The Fighting Temptations, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion and the 2006 Jiffy Lube Print and TV Commercial, they are no strangers to TV, Film and Broadway. Through their ministry of song, they have also been granted access to countless areas in the Gospel Music Industry. In 1992 these versatile sisters received national success with their debut album, U-Know and it maintained a # 2 position on the Billboard Gospel chart. Their Billboard success helped to catapult their ministry and it showed when the renowned Radio single “When God Is In The Building” became an all-time favorite and the signature song for the Anointed Pace Sisters. When God is In The Building was frequently requested by listeners across the country. Their extraordinary and well constructed vocals were also recognized by Grammy Award winning producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Jam and Lewis were enthralled by the girls and instantly gave them the opportunity to record vocals for the Fighting Temptations movie soundtrack. In 2006, The Anointed Pace Sisters re-entered the Gospel Music scene with their phenomenal project Return on Tyscot Records. Return was nominated for a Stellar Award and received significant Radio Airplay for the song “High Praise”. As a remerable treat, Lashun Pace also joined her sisters on the song “He’s Here”. On Return, Melonda, Latrice, Leslie, June, Lydia, DeJuaii, Duranice, and Phyllis Pace were all recognized for their individual styles vocally and as ministers of the Gospel. The Anointed Pace Sisters have declared in 2009 who they are in Christ with their 2nd Live CD on Tyscot

Records, Access Granted. Access Granted serves as a testament to the favor that God has poured out over their lives spiritually, professionally and personally. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand…” Romans 5:2. “Because we are the seeds of righteousness we have been granted access not only to His presence but to the things of God”-Latrice Pace. Produced by Alex Asaph Ward, Access Granted delivers a harmonious sound for every generation in Gospel Music to embrace. Its’ musical diversity with poignant lyrics and melodies confirm the message that we are all seeds of righteousness in authority and dominion. The songs “I’m Gonna Get what God has for me”, “Finally”, “It’s time to be blessed”, and “Jesus Will ”set the tone for the project’s affirmation that we have all been Granted Access to God’s promises. The project exudes the heart of God and what He truly desires for his people. Other songs from the project such as “Someday”, written by Bishop Leonard Scott and “Daily I”, written by Keisha Mcfarland flow in the same vein of believing that we are heirs to God’s kingdom. Unity and Strength are two qualities that The Anointed Pace Sisters have maintained since their early days singing in local high school talent shows. They have remained poised and have mesmerized audiences across the country for over the last 15 years. Currently, the sisters individually and as a group have been blessed to perform on BET’s Sunday’s Best, in the Musical Stage Play Jesus Christ Superstar and Walt Disney’s Festivals of the Lion King and on the TV ONE show, The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors.

The Anointed Pace Sister’s new release, Access Granted was birthed from their personal testimonies of receiving God’s favor and their daily meditation on God’s Word of how to receive His promises.

Stephen Heffernan (Vocals, Guitar, Keys), Keith Heffernan (Bass, Vocals), Gill Van Mastrigt (Drums)

Redruth share powerful songs that give hope, build faith and point lives to Christ. Since 2008, thousands of people across Australia have been

impacted by their unique faith based songs, and preaching of the Gospel. Favorites on Australian Christian radio, Redruth are now also being

played on over 50 stations across the US and Canada, to a combined audience of over a million people.

Redruth’s music effortlessly speaks the Word of God in a way that is so compelling that it’s impossible not to be moved, comforted and challenged

all in one sitting. Musical comparisons include Something For Kate or Reuben Morgan, but for Redruth, it’s not about being Christian rockstars, it’s

about building people’s faith in a God who cares. Even in their mid-late twenties, Redruth are veterans of music ministry playing innumerable

shows in churches, schools, festivals and street corners in almost every part of Australia and New Zealand.

Some are born to be kings. Some are born to a long line of doctors, teachers, or carpenters. Sydney-based brothers Stephen and Keith Heffernan

from rock band Redruth were born to a line of great faith, with a legacy of testimonies, healings, signs and wonders. Now backed by the impeccable

drumming from Gill van Mastrigt, Redruth are branching into international territories in the coming months and years.

Ester Nicholson is an author, Agape International-licensed spiritual therapist, motivational speaker and inspirational recording artist who brings her personal experience of 25 years of sobriety coupled with a deep understanding of spiritual teachings to audiences around the globe - with riveting keynote addresses, soul-nurturing music, transformative workshops and a popular online radio program.

For the past 17 years, she has studied under Michael Beckwith, founder of Agape and a featured teacher in the book and motion picture, The Secret. A gifted vocal artist with her own national releases, she has completed two world tours with Rod Stewart and Bette Midler in addition to appearing on such television shows as Oprah, The Tonight Show, The View, Good Morning America and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Ester is currently hosting a top-rated, weekly talk show on Unity Online Radio, facilitating workshops and giving keynote addresses to institutions, companies and organizations, incorporating concepts from 12 Keys To Freedom: A Path to Metaphysical Recovery – her soon-to-be-released book (now available in Kindle and pre-release versions) based upon spiritual principles and the 12-Step recovery process.

“We are collectively standing at a recovery momentʼ in our history - with challenges that face us on so many levels. As a people, as businesses, as educators and as organizations, we are at a point where we need to re-think, re-tool and re-engineer our future. For me, that suggests a basis in straight talk, back-to-our-roots thinking, and embracing a future that is consistent with foundational principles we all share - regardless of our religious or cultural background.” - Ester Nicholson

As a teacher she illustrates, through her own personal struggle with - and ultimate transcendence over, misguided beliefs that result in personal crisis, addiction and suffering. Nicholson shares, “It has become very clear to me that a false sense of identity and an ignorance of our true nature is the primary blockage to full

Page 17: MACKIE Magazine November Anniversary Issue

human expression. The more that false sense of identity is dissolved by healing our core wounds, the more we break through a cultural sense of lack and finally experience our inherent wholeness and strength.”

Ester's personal struggles as a teenage mother, substance abuser, food addict, domestic violence surviver and her triumph over these challenges place her in a unique and powerful position to relate to and inspire youth, teens and adults from all walks of life.

Whether she's speaking or sharing her music in churches or secular settings, Ester provides high-value tools and technologies, touching hearts and minds with her deep commitment to making a significant difference in people's lives.

Be sure to tune in to Ester's new radio show, "12 Keys to Freedom - a Path to Metaphysical Recovery," featured Mondays at

They knew I’d be a writer, but I surprised everyone when I decided to become a singer in my thirties.

This is where I write about what I say in between songs. It’s the place I put my musings about music and motherhood and the faith that sustains both those callings.

My parents tell everyone I was always writing, performing and telling stories. Writing has been my joy as a kid, my job as an adult, and my strength & comfort as a Mom.

Unlike a lot of Christian artists, I didn’t grow up going to church, or singing in choirs. Talk about being OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE! At one time, I thought that was a hindrance, but it really fuels my passion and tells an awesome story of an amazing God and His plans for us. I wouldn’t trade the journey, because He was shaping me for such a time as this.

How I got here from there …

I’m fiercely competitive. I used that drive and skill to get a journalism degree in 3 1/2 years – and was chosen as my graduating class’ commencement speaker. I spoke about being an agent of change. Then, I sort of settled into business as usual … a career in public relations as a writer/editor/spokesperson, marriage and three kids. I worked in Milwaukee, Los Angeles and Minneapolis, before choosing to be home.

I felt blessed to be able to be home with my kids, and quickly took on the role of activity planner, volunteer, Sunday School teacher, VBS Director and more. Somewhere in there, though, I lost a little of what made me – me. Or, maybe I didn’t quite know how to incorporate it back into my busy life.

I searched in many places for an activity I could do that would not only use my talents, but move me. It’s necessary for all of us to do something that fills us to overflowing with joy. Over the years, in bits and pieces, God started revealing parts of the picture. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy trying to figure out what the pieces meant.

Thankfully, in 2008, the pieces finally came into focus and revealed me singing and writing songs. Who knew?! Well, God did – but it still amazes me that I didn’t “get it” until I was in my thirties.

What’s really cool is that I always had these gifts. God created me with them. It just took me a while to realize it, accept my gifts in this area and say, “OK, Lord, I’m ready.” God took it from there and has moved mountains, opened doors and filled me with God-sized faith to go after this dream.

As with most singer/songwriters, my music is a very personal reflection of my emotions, my relationships and how I look at life and my walk with God. I find inspiration in God’s word, from my my husband and children, and walking through this life as a sinner saved by miraculous Grace.

God chose me for this mission. At first, I didn’t think I could do it and my fear and doubts stepped in the way many times.

But, with prayer and a faith only God could provide, I’m getting out of the boat and using what He gave me. 1 Peter 4:10

I keep my eyes on Jesus and I will not sink.

Page 23: MACKIE Magazine November Anniversary Issue

23

Hello. What is your name? How long have you been involved in the entertainment business? Kasey Scott. I started singing when I was a little girl with my Aunt Glenda. As a teenager I started doing performances and competitions

throughout Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee. At age 20 I was the leading female singer at a Country Music show called the Ozark Mountain Hoedown in Eureka Springs Arkansas. I also worked on my first album in Nashville TN. A couple years later and after realizing that the rowdy lifestyle wasn’t for me, I decided to and take a break and pursue other career avenues and didn’t sing for several years.

When did you know that you wanted to be in this business and what was your motivation? About five years ago, I felt God calling me to start singing again. This time, I slowly getting back into performing and singing songs that I wanted to sing. A couple years later, a random search on the Internet led me to Tate Music Group where I received a contract to do my first ever gospel album. Without a doubt it was God’s will and calling for me and my ministry. I also wrote two original of my testimony and my faith in Jesus.

Who has helped you along the way and inspired you the most? As a teenager and young adult I would sing at local churches with my late aunt Glenda. She would constantly show me love and encouragement and would play the piano and sing backup. My mother was also my biggest fan growing up and was always there at my shows helping me do my best. Now my husband has joined her routinely supports me in all of my projects.

What are some of the highlights of your career so far? By far the release of my album with my two original songs has been my crowning achievement. I never imagined I would have the opportunity, the challenge, and this level of accomplishment in my career. I owe to all my family and friends in faith who always stood by and encouraged my music. It has truly been such a joy being able to write my own music that God puts on my heart.

Have you received any special awards or achievements? Getting the album broadcast to mass media was both a huge shock and tremendous accomplishment for me.

Do you have any special events, shows / gigs coming up? I will be performing at the Men of Action’s Family Festival in Blue Lake, CA on June 15th at 4:30pm

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 or 10 years? I place my faith and trust in God’s plan for me and hope that it includes me continuing to write and performing music filled with the spirit.

What would you like your legacy to be? I want people to know how happy and devout I am in the faith of our Lord and Savior. But even more so, I pray that through my music, others will find the same solace in the Lord as I have over the last several years.

Do you have other interests? What services does your company offer? I love conducting Bible studies and growing in my faith. Also, I truly enjoy writing inspirational songs that help people through tough times. Life can be tough at times and I want to help people and give them hope.

Any special words of encouragement or advice for our readers? God has a plan for each of us and each of us has special gifts. Use your gifts to serve the Lord who blesses you. Put your trust in him and he will give you strength to whatever it is he has called you to do.

Once upon a time there was a young girl who’s only dream was to find a godly man, get married, have a couple of

children, and live happily ever after. As a young woman she met that man and was married at 18 years of age. After 3

years of marriage and much prayer, the couple decided they wanted to expand their family. That was the start of a 7 year

journey that would change their lives forever. Little did they know that something so simple as conceiving a child would

become a heartache and develop into feelings of despair and abandonment by God. Every day became a test of patience.

Every month became a disappointment. Months turned into years of medical testing which only prolonged the agony of

childlessness. And then the day came when the doctors said “Sorry, there’s nothing else we can do”. Although they were

both Christians and loved God with all their hearts, they questioned God’s Will. Their dream was unfulfilled. Tears

flowed daily and the only comfort was from God’s Word:

Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you hope and a future.

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present

your requests to God.”

Eva Kroon Pike

Page 28: MACKIE Magazine November Anniversary Issue

28

What they didn’t realize was that God was performing a miracle that would soon be revealed. What was He trying to say?

What did He want them to do? God’s Grace was at work. Had He chosen this couple for something special? Would it

fulfill their promise from God? Would it bring purpose and meaning to the life they felt had no meaning? It began with

God providing thoughts. Then by the couple’s faith and obedience to Christ, He began to open their heart and mind to the

idea that there were orphaned children who needed love and a family through adoption. Doors began to open and a

process that can take from 3-5 years to complete took only a mere 5 months when a phone call came stating that a baby

boy had been born and was theirs! God was good and His grace and love for them was accomplished. The baby was

beautiful. He was everything they had dreamed of and more. Finally, God’s purpose was revealed. But, was God’s plan

finished? They continued to pray. Was it too much to ask for a baby girl to complete them as a family? After six long

years of more waiting, that exciting day came, that special telephone ring and voice on the other line saying “we have a

baby girl for you”. What a dream come true! They began to imagine how their first meeting would be. “Would she smile

wide, would the light catch her eyes?” They had dreamed and waited so long but it didn’t matter because they would be

there soon and she would be theirs. So if she’s anything close to what she’s meant to be, they knew they owed it to the

Hands of Grace that chose them as parents! II Corinthians 12: 9 And He has said to me “My grace is sufficient for you, for

my power is made perfect in weakness.” Thank you for the hands of Grace that chose me. I am that baby girl and this is

my story in song!!!!!!!

Inspirational Rock/Blues Singer, Songwriter and Vocal Coach

Jody Joseph harbors an instinct bred from the historical significance of her own backyard, and has the passion and intensity to back it up. From the

very first day on the planet, she was granted a musical heritage (one of her famous relatives was opera singer Mario Lanza, another one a cousin

named Jon Bon Jovi), and during her early years she began forming a style drawn from various eras of rock, pop and soul.

Inspired by the reflections of her life, Joseph says, “I have always believed that music is a universal language that has the ability to comfort and heal

through some pretty dark moments in our lives.” The 2000 release of her debut CD marked the moment in time when Joseph began to realize her

most fervent dreams into reality. “I always knew that I wanted to be a writer of my own songs, and knew that in some respects I would fight for their

existences as if they were my own children. Because, in a very real way, that’s what songs are for me. They’re part of me.”

Her album, “The Only Way Out is Through” features standout session players under the advice and guidance of Scott Welch (Alanis Morrisette),

who saw the talent and took on the managerial role to help Joseph develop her craft. All of the songs were either co-written or fully written by

Joseph, and produced by Dan Grigsby. Joseph and her band had the opportunity to play with some impressive national act openers and showcase

shows in New York City and Atlantic City during the past 10 years. The band’s schedule is extensive, including community concerts, fundraisers and

private events.

Joseph is a vocal coach whose generosity goes beyond just teaching by constantly encouraging her talented students to share the stage with her and

the band. Her brainchild was a concert to raise funds for Teen Suicide Awareness and Prevention. The “LIVE-Rock for Life Concert,” held for two

consecutive years at the Stone Pony, included rock memorabilia auctions and ad journals, which raised thousands. The concept of the LIVE concert

was born out of the tragic suicide of one of her young teen students in 2003. LIVE stands for the logo LIVE-INSPIRE-VIBE-ENERGY.

The band has also volunteered their time for Sid Bernstein’s Kamala Benefit at the Stone Pony to raise money for a school in Thailand destroyed by

the 2005 Tsunami, The Long Branch (NJ) School District’s Wave Of Hope Concert for the Biloxi MS school district that was ravaged by Hurricane

Katrina, the Light of Day concerts, the American Cancer Society’s Rock for Life concerts, The December 2007 Pediatric Cancer Research

Foundation benefit at the Stone Pony, numerous benefits for Wag On Inn Animal Rescue and in December 2010, for Prevent Child Abuse NJ. On

May 25, 2008, The Jody Joseph Band, was featured on FM105.7 The Hawk Radio (Ocean County NJ) in a live performance at the Stone Pony in

Asbury Park and subsequently released their third CD, taken from that concert, “Live at the Stone Pony,” in October 2008. She is very excited about

the twists and turns that this road has taken. Her songs are bluesy ballads, cranked-up, soulful rockers, and spiritual songs with an attitude, with

devilishly clever lyrics and wide-open heart and soul. Joseph’s other CDs are a closed session acoustic recording of spiritual songs and a bootleg live

CD from her 2002 show at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

Joseph and her band were nominated for the 2004, 2005, 2006, & 2007 Asbury Music Awards for both “Best Female Vocalist”, and the band itself

for “Best Rock Band”. In 2009, Joseph was the recipient of the “Living Legend 2009” award at the Asbury Music Awards.

Page 34: MACKIE Magazine November Anniversary Issue

Joseph had the pleasure of performing her fabulous renditions of Janis Joplin songs with Janis’ original band, Big Brother and the Holding Company,

on their Northeast tour, in May 2006.

In 2009, Joseph’s show, “One Legend…One Diva…One Woman,” a theatrical show honoring the music of Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks, and

produced by Joseph, was performed at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park NJ, to a crowd of over 900. In January 2010, she again performed her

show to an almost sold-out audience at The Gramercy Theater in New York City. The show features Joseph portraying both Janis and Stevie, with

numerous costume changes, props, lighting and even a “liquid” light show, and additionally performing her original songs. She then took her show

back to Monmouth County and presented it in September 2010 at Brookdale Performing Arts Center in Lincroft NJ to a sold-out crowd. Plans are

underway for another show in the fall of 2011.

Beverly Rivers, is a Singer, Songwriter, Composer, and Founder of BCPA,

Breakfree Christian Performers Association Inc., a nonprofit (501(c)3 performing arts evangelism organization. For more on BCPA,

Inc. visit http://www.breakfreechristian.org. At age 9 Beverly sat down to practice her scales and hymn pieces in preparation for

her piano lesson. Instead, she pecked out a melody that was rolling around in her head. Her first composition entitled "I've

Dreamed" marked the beginning of her journey as an artist. From then on... behold the dreamer cometh. Beverly sang in choirs and

choral groups in church, school and college. Hiding her talent among the masses, she never asserted herself to be the lead singer or

a soloist. For years she sang is groups and directed choirs, too fearful to allow the fullness of her talent to be known. In later years,

the aftershock of painful life experiences were the catalyst that brought about a supernatural writing experience in Beverly's life.

"It was like someone turned a radio on in my head." She explains. "I would hear unique music and vocal performances and realized

I was hearing an original song in my mind." For a year she wrote songs that seemed to download from heaven into her spirit. These

songs were a healing balm for her own brokenness. Months later, Beverly found herself stranded on the freeway after the drive

shaft broke on her van. A young man pulled over to help and called for a tow on his cell phone. While they waited for the tow truck

to arrive, he learned that Beverly had written several unpublished gospel songs, she learned that he was the co-owner of a

recording studio. This divine appointment led Beverly to meet Eric Hayslett, who produced the music for The Prophecy, her first

release. Eric became instrumental in recruiting and directing Breakfree Band for Beverly's' debut concert and beyond. Since the

1994 debut of her first music release, The Prophecy, Beverly Rivers has WOWed audiences with her smooth, clear vocals. Beverly's

vocal style can be described as Jazzy R&B with a taste of SoftRock. Fans compare her vocal style to Anita Baker's sultry range,

Aretha Franklin's old school soul, and Barbara Streisand's classy clarity. Performances venues include CA Bay Area Christian

Coffeehouses, Spirit West Coast Christian Music Festival at Laguna Seca, San Mateo and Alameda County Fairs, United Christian

Broadcasting TV show, "Coast to Coast", Various 12 Step Ministries, Churches, and Schools. In 2003, Beverly completed a 10 day

five city tour of England as a special guest vocalist with Dance for His Glory. Beverly Rivers is a modern day psalmist with a

unique gift for writing songs that speak clearly to the heart of real life issues. The music is clearly R&B yet the lyrics are infused

with the truth found in Word of God. Experience the energy of Beverly Rivers who never neglects to teach her audience the hook of

IN HER OWN WORDS:

"I'm just a girl who wants to make her heavenly father proud.

When this life is over and I meet my Savior face to face, I

want to see a great gig cheezy smile on His face as He says.

"Well Done!" I recently returned to America after

completing a 32-month missions assignment in Japan to

assist the Kansai/Osaka area churches with evangelism.

During my stay I was honored to serve as a promoter for the

Franklin Graham Festival as well as teach voice and Gospel

music for three churches as a community outreach program.

I took this assignment because I could not understand how

less than 1% of the population in Japan are Christian. After

being submerged in the culture for almost three years, I

gained a better understanding of the depth of cultural bonds

that have created this condition.

My assignment began April 6th 2010. Americans often ask.

"Why would you interrupt your life for three years to do

this?" My answer..."to share my love for Jesus, because He's

too good to miss!" After my arrival in Japan, many Japanese

asked. "Why did you come to Japan?" My answer..."to

share my love for Jesus, because He's too good to miss!" I

promised the Lord, Jesus that I would teach the people about

Him. So with all of my heart and energy I lifted up the name

of Jesus through singing, teaching voice, playing piano,

directing student concert, teaching Bible studies, spending

time with students in groups and one to one, praying,

whatever the Lord led me to do. I pray that the light of His

love shone through me so that many will someday come to

know him. When I have breathed my last breath, I wish to

leave a legacy of faith and a trail of redeemed souls to the

Glory of God... The one and only true and living GOD!"

Amen!

Blessings, Beverly

a tune that will leave them dancing and singing all the way home. Beverly skillfully writes and sings the words that are trapped in

our hearts but we find it hard to express. She has a gift of connecting with her audience. Her concerts are injected with energy that

leaves her audiences powered up, fired up and wanting more! Beverly is also a guest speaker / workshop instructor for Women's

Retreats, Vocal Training and Songwriting Workshops. Beverly Rivers' Ministries is funded by proceeds from CD sales,

honorariums and tax-deductible gifts made by financial partners and business sponsors. When she is not wearing the Gospel Diva

or Teaching Evangelist hats, Beverly works to duplicate her skill and heart for musical excellence in other performing artists as The

Vocal Coach. She teaches, supports and encourages artists to give God excellence in the performing arts, connecting them to

Breakfree Christian Performers Association, Inc., for mentoring and fellowship. There is more testimony than one bio can hold.

Invite Beverly Rivers to sing or speak at your next event and draw from a very deep well filled from a heavenly source.

A Conversation with Cyrus Webb, CEO of Conversations Media Group

Hello. What is your name? How long have you been involved in the entertainment business? I'm Cyrus Webb, President of Conversations Media Group. CMG began in July 2003.

When did you know that you wanted to be in this business and what was your motivation? I knew that I had a story to tell and a gift to share. I can't say I knew automatically where it would take me or what it would even become. I just wanted to show others what was possible for them.

Who has helped you along the way and inspired you the most? I can't say enough about how my mother and grandmother inspired me along my journey. They haven't always understood what I was doing, but they always supported me. Also my high school art teacher Ms. Phelps was a great inspiration for me. She once said I was "greatness in the works". That was in 1993, and I never forgot that.

What are some of the highlights of your career so far? I think the highlights of CMG have really been the reach of our company. I still call Mississippi home, but we have supporters and clients across the country and around the world. After 10 years we are still growing and getting better.

Have you received any special awards or achievements? In Mississippi I've been recognized for our co-ed book club called Conversations that I began in 2006. That was a huge honor. Blogtalkradio.com has recognized my show as one of their top 200 on the air, another testament to our supporters.

Do you have any special events, shows / gigs coming up? My television show returns online in July. It's called Conversations with Cyrus Webb and follows the pattern of our radio show in spotlighting individuals around the world. You can find out more at www.conversationswithcyruswebb.com.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 or 10 years? I would love to see my television show syndicated on the Oprah Winfrey Network. I think our kind of programming is a perfect fit for her audience.

What would you like your legacy to be? I would like to be remembered as someone who chose to strive for excellence more so than fame. Celebrity status can fade but leaving an example of endless possibilities is forever.

Any special words of encouragement or advice for our readers? I can't stress enough the importance of being true to yourself and the brand you are building for yourself. You'll be surprised how far it will take you.

Difference Makers

A Look at Tiffany Patton, CEO of On The Go with Tiffany

Who is Tiffany Patton?

Tiffany Patton symbolizes the emergence of a woman who is taking the reigns to be known as a Renaissance

woman on her hit radio show series “On the Go with Tiffany Patton”. As a native of Detroit, Tiffany’s show

is focused on providing the rebirth to the Renaissance era through jazz and neo-soul. She has interviewed

renown actors and musicians with a passion to revive Detroit through arts, music and education which needs

significant support. She has interviewed the likes of Brian McKnight, Carl Thomas, P-Funk legend George Clinton, Gospel Veterans Fred Hammond, Troy Sneed, and

CeCe Winans, and Jazz Genuis Boney James, Norman Brown, Maysa, and Richard Elliot to highlight a few.

She also knows the power of her voice, as she has hosted interviews for Rolling Out Magazine, 107.5 FM (Detroit), TV 313, WrappedTV, and received a personal

request to interview George Clinton and Bootsy Collins in 2011.

In the world of media and entertainment it’s not enough to be a pretty face with a microphone. One needs to be an entrepreneur, advocate and multi-talented. On the

business-side, Tiffany is the CEO of Your Dreams By Design,LLC, and her company’s primary focus is to assist other radio outlets in marketing and consultations.

Also, she holds a position as head of media marketing for Bella Modeling. Through her success with assisting several radio outlets and philanthropic endeavors in 2011

she was awarded alongside other local politicians by an etiquette school (3 Phases 2 A Lady) for “impacting women, the community and being a great role model”.

Tiffany has a tenacious desire to educate and empower, with her love for radio she will be able to do both seamlessly.

She acknowledges that with her popularity she can bring attention to other issues. With her heart for philanthropic endeavors, Tiffany serves as founder of the Patricia

Patton Center for New Life, Hope, and Empowerment to assist families ravaged by the effects of all types of cancer. The Patricia Patton Center, named in honor of her

mother who lost her brilliantly brave battle with breast cancer at the young age 57. Tiffany has long been a supporter of charities that bring attention to breast cancer

and plans to be a vital support through fundraising to find cures.

Always up for a challenge, Tiffany has set forth on the path that will undoubtedly lead to more success. Tiffany enjoys spending time with her daughter Cassaundra

Patton who is a talented 15 year-old. She is also an active member of National Association of Black Journalist and Women Entrepreneurs of America. Mother, CEO,

Radio Show host, Voice-Over talent, these aren’t enough adjectives to describe the woman that is Tiffany N. Patton.

In short, Tiffany N. Patton is your modern day Renaissance woman!
