LW, we are made for more! Both as individuals and as a body, we are designed to learn, grow, and come fully alive. I am incredibly thankful for what God is doing in our lives and our church, but rather than rest on what has been accomplished, I see Him constantly opening the doors for more. When we come to the realization that we have only tapped into a small amount of our potential, one of two things will happen: 1) We shut down and draw back because we look at how hard it will be to move forward, or 2) We are set free in knowing that being made in God’s image means unlimited transformation and New Life. The Apostle Paul observed a group of very distinguished people who had limited themselves and said:

‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’ Acts 17:28

He was telling them, “You were made for more!” You were made to embrace and know your Creator & Father through the grace of Jesus Christ. You were made to tell others of this great story of New Life. You were made to be more than conquerors in every area of life! God wants everyone to experience the fullness of life He has designed, but it is reserved for those who will believe, truly believe, and live out the principles of Scripture. We are made for more!

Do you know someone who needs to hear this message? Invite them to church with you this month!

Spiritual Formation: Risk Joshua 1 / Deuteronomy 6 & 7God asks Joshua to lead His people and take the risk of advancing God’s agenda. Joshua is promised, “Every place where you set your foot” and that, “No one will be able to stand up against you.” Joshua moves forward in faith and God does what he promised, and Joshua 1:8 states the key is never forgetting the foundation upon which this is all built. God said, “Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth” meaning know the Scriptures and let your words convey God’s truth to all. So what is God’s truth that Joshua was reading? Deuteronomy 6 & 7 Convey this concisely:

• Love the Lord your God with your whole being• Teach God’s ways to your children• Do not forget what He has done for you• Revere God, be awe-fi lled, and worship Him• Serve Him only• Keep His commands• Do what is right and good

Taking risk is a big step! But with this foundation, we can step forward with confi dence!

Future Movement: As we look at Living Water and the possibility of becoming a multi-site church, it has caused us to look closely at how we currently do things as a church. While we do some things amazing well, we are also identifying improvements we need to make. We are actively pursuing ways to make these improvements happen as we continue our discussion of what it would take to replicate Living Water at another site. Some areas we need to “shore up” are leadership development, volunteerism, helping people take their next step in growth. This entire conversation about what God has for our future is helping us to become a better church today.

Finance Report: We reviewed fi nancial statements through the end of July 2012, which all refl ect a very positive fi nancial position for the church. Our cash reserves remain adequate with 4.3 weeks of operating money available. Typically, churches have a liquidity target of 2-6 weeks in cash reserves, so our current liquidity is appropriate for unexpected expenditures. Our YTD expenses continue to run below current giving, which allows us to fully fund all ministries and future capital expenses. Thank you for your consistent, generous giving.

Sound & Video Renovation: The new system has been installed and our tech people are continuing to make adjustments and fi ne tune the new system. We are approximately $9,000 short of completing our commitment to funding this outside of our normal offerings and giving. We are trusting for the money to come in before the end of 2012.

Move to Three Services: We are looking forward to what God is going to do as we step into having three worship services on Sunday morning. LW is defi nitely a place where people can fi nd New Life in Jesus Christ. Is there someone you can invite to church this month?

Prayer: The Father’s Heart: September 9 - October 14We all pray (or at least try to) regularly. But, how often do we sit down and think about what prayer is and how we should go about it? Join Dan Hostetler during the middle hour (2nd worship service) from Sept. 9 - Oct. 14 in room 26 as he explores the lost art of prayer. Sessions will revolve around what is prayer?, why should we pray?, how should we pray?, and what answers should we expect? If you’re looking for a jumpstart to your prayer life, don’t miss this class!

Why Should I Get Baptized? Check out Romans 6:1-11.When you choose to go under the water, you identify with Christ who went into the grave, and when you come out of the water, you identify with His resurrection. Baptism signifi es what has already happened to us spiritually. Our old identity as a sinner is gone, and we rise with a new identity in Christ. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision for Christ.

Why Should I Dedicate My Child?

A child is a God-given gift. When you decide to dedicate your child, it signifi es your promise to raise your child in a Christ-led home and church where he or she can come to know, love, and serve Jesus. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” It also signifi es a commitment by the people of Living Water to provide a loving, biblical community that supports and prays for your family.

Interested inParticipating?

New Life Sunday is October 21st. It will be an honor for us to walk alongside you as you take this step in your spiritual journey.

Invite your family and friends. This is a day of celebration!

Pick up a Baptism or Child Dedication card at the Info Center.
