Alumnae Lives & Legacies:The weekend includes two
opportunities to hear from sis-
ter alumnae. During Friday’s
Decade Reflection Panel you
will hear of Madeira’s rich his-
tory through the memories and
experiences of classmates.
Madeira alumnae from each
decade will share stories of
what Madeira was like during
their time here. Saturday you
will hear from alumnae who are
involved with the stewardship
of the earth and environment.
Class Visits & Campus Tours:Although there have been many
changes to Madeira’s campus,
the beauty in and out of the
classrooms remains the same.
Alumnae will visit classes with
current Madeira students and
see campus with a STAR (STu-
dent Admission Representative).
Master Class: Step back into
the classroom and experience
what learning is like today at
Madeira with one of Madeira’s
master teachers.
Friday Class Gatherings:Friday evening is open for
classes to gather off campus
following an on-campus cock-
tail hour. Please coordinate
with your Reunion class com-
mittee for location and time.
Red-White Afternoon Activities:Saturday afternoon will be a
time to unwind and explore
Madeira in a way you never
have before. Join Heidi Santner
Freeman ’89 for a hike and ex-
plore some of Madeira’s hidden
mysteries. If a tour by auto is
more your speed, join Assistant
Head of School Meredyth Cole
and drive to the far reaches of
campus. Additional activities in-
clude a ride on the zipwire and
teambuilding activities offered
by Inner Quest Inc. or a visit to
the barn.
Reunion Class CelebrationDinners: After many alumnae
requests, Reunion Class Dinners
are now on campus! Enjoy a
special dinner with your class-
mates and friends without the
hassle of having to leave cam-
pus. Classes will have individ-
ual locations on campus to
eat, drink, and be merry with
Madeira friends!
Bonfire on the Bluff: Following
dinner on Saturday evening we
invite you to the bluff behind
the Chapel/Auditorium for a
bonfire and dessert.
As you can tell, there is some-thing for everyone! You areinvited and welcome to joinus for the entire weekend oreven just a small part. Reunions 2009: Return, Remember, Rediscover
Reunions 2009 will be a time to join classmates from years ending in a 4 or 9 and come
together to celebrate all Madeira has to offer. With School in session and current students
on campus, Madeira alumnae, reunion and non-reunion years, are welcome to Greenway to
experience the Madeira community and to reconnect with sister alumnae and friends.4&9What Miss Madeira told her graduates in 1939 about Greenway’s beauty is still true today:
“It will come back to you very vividly, very often
when you are in [a] vacant or pensive mood. Other
memories will come, too, of friends, of classmates,
of teachers… But no memory will be more vivid
than the charm of Madeira.”
—Strong in Her Girls: The Madeira School Centennial History, 1906–2006
During the weekend, Madeira alumnae, family, and friends, have the opportunityto engage with the campus and the entire Madeira community as you enjoy:
