There is a variety of colours used. This gives the connotation that they are attempting to attract as

many types of ‘music lovers’.(male and female)

I think It gives a nice professional tone, summing up the style of the magazine.

The text has been used in a clever and informative way. The main artist’s names have got bold/large sand serif font, with folios highlighted in speech

bubbles. Its clever because people who look at the contents page can quickly find their favourite artist

and read the pages that are relevant to them.

It Has a variety of different genres of artists covering a wide range of audiences just on the contents page. Each of them representing their

genre of music.

In each photograph the subject appears to be relaxed posing in their own ways relating to their

character. They never use the same colours/lighting/pose twice because they want to

show the diversity in their magazine.

Names of artists are bold and large because they are the most important articles/people in the magazine.

The designers have used stereotypical pink colours to represent the main artist Florence. They have

tried to give the double page spread a feminine tone with text in a ‘hand written’ style giving innocence to

her.

The covers house style has been transferred onto this page with the black and pink stylish colours.

In the centre of the text an everyday image of Florence has been used to help the reader to relate

to her indie rock lifestyle and help describe the article.

The pose gives the feeling of innocence, her head down and hands folded together.

The caption is slightly larger than the body copy meaning it catches people’s eye and

attracts them to read it, then hooking them into reading the full article.

I think that the double page spread is designed to appeal to women who aspire to be her. The article gives an inspirational

view of her struggles that are relatable for the reader.

The designers have used used very bold outstanding colours that are good at attracting the eye when on magazine shelves. The mixture of black and neon colours give a fun tone that people will be attracted to.

There is a wide variety of fonts and font sizes used to distinguish between different cover lines even when it’s tight on space.

The Larger the cover line/masthead suggests they are more important.

I feel the design is a fight for dominance with the different cover lines, creating a very powerful front cover.

The designer’s use of large scale photographs of celebrities attracts their fans to buy the magazine, increasing their target audience/readership.

I believe that the cover photo is a representation of the entire contents of the magazine not just the feature story, Readers would only be able to judge the contents through the cover of the magazine.

The use of back gives the contents a stereotypically rock look for the genre.

I has a very structured feel that is simple to read because of its bold and

capitalised folio titles.

There is a strong house theme using sand serif fonts through the cover, contents and

cover story. It gives a modern feel to the magazine reflecting their young target

audience.

The contents page gives the impression that the magazine has a small amount of content, I believe their young audience

would want.

The photo is good because it makes you feel involved/ engaged, as if you were on stage with the artist.

His pose gives the impression that he is a outgoing character readers may idolise, engaging his audience makes magazine

readers feel more involved.

I think that the contents page is effective because it has a small amount of text alongside

photographs and graphics perfect for their young target audience.

The graphic /crosshead is effective because they have props connotative with the rock

genre. The folio titles suggest the interests of their target audience.

I believe the double page spread is very effective because of its large modern

style masthead that catches your attention when flicking through the

magazine.

The limited amount of text is good because their young audience can become uninterested with large

amounts of text.

value.

Their location gives them a relatable aspect, unlike some artists features

who’s photographs are taken in there celebrity lifestyle.
