INTRODUCTION
The 101 Group consists of a contiguous block of one hundred and one (101) unpatented mining claims located in Holloway and Marriott townships, Larder Lake Mining Division, District of Cochrane, Ontario.
For the purpose of this survey, unpatented mining claims were re-cut and a magnetometer and electromagnetic survey was conducted. The grid was originally established in 1987, at a 100 meter line spacing, by Perrons. For the purpose of this survey, stations were established every 12 meters along the picket lines.
Line cutting was performed by A J Perron Gold Corporation. The two technical surveys were performed by Wendy Weller and Michael Burns assisting.
All drafting and interpretation was completed by Wendy Weller. The report was also written by Wendy Weller.
The anomalies detected therefrom are shown on the accompanying plan maps at a scale of 1:5000, that form an integral part of this re port.
Additional information on the instruments used in the surveys can be found at the back of this report on The Technical Data Form.

TOPOGRAPHY
The overall terrain in this survey ranged from steep outcrop hills to low bogg and beaver ponds. A few creek systems cross the claims flowing to the Mattawasaga River.
A small mountain with very steep cliffs occurs in the south part of this survey. The vegetation ranges from red pine, jack pine, silver and white birch on the hills and mountain, to poplar and alder and balsam in the low lying areas.
GENERAL GEOLOGY
According to the O.G.S. report 173, Geology of Stoughton and Marriott townships by L.S. Jensen, the underlying bedrock is predominan tly volcanic rocks with lesser amounts of sedimentary rocks which have been intruded by ultra mafic and felsic lava flows. Lying between these lava flows are interflow siliceous horizons, sedimentary bands of grey wacke, arkose and some iron formation.
These series of flows and rock types are of the Archean Age belonging to the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of the Superior Province.

The Destor-Porcupine fault is a major deformation zone which lies along the north boundary of the 101 Group in Marriott township. In this zone the structure is composed of two or three converging faults forming a deformation/alteration zone up to 5,000 feet wide.
The outcrop on the property is well exposed and cliff faces of basaltic and andesitic lava flows, including pillows, brecciated flows and tuffs. These flows trend east-northeast and dip steeply south. Several strike-slip faults cut the underlying rocks and may indicate splays associated with the Destor-Porcupine deformation zone.
INSTRUMENTATION
Magnetometer Survey:
This system uses a backward motion of spinning protons of a hydrogen atom within fluid of hydrogen and carbon. These spinning magnetic protons are caused to have two opposite poles by applying a magnetic fluid using a current within a coil of wire. This frequency of precision is proportional to the earth's total magnetic field.
This instrument is read directly in gammas which is the absolute value of the earth's total field for that station.
The diurnal variation was monitored by closing each loop at any secondary check station, at a grid line, baseline intersection. Diurnal corrections were applied by linear distribution of any observed variation over the time between base stations.
Electromagnetic Survey:
The VLF-EM method uses as a source, several of the main sub marine communications transmitters in the 15 to 25 kHz band found throughout the world.
The submarine communication radio waves travel in a single mode parallel to the surface of the earth along the earth-air interace.
VLF instruments are capable of picking up any structures that change the direction of the waves by measuring the tilt angle being zero on flat ground, but when a conductor is present, the tilt angle will acquire a finite value. The direction of tilt indicates the direction of the conductor.
Calculations of such parameters as depth, depth extent, dip and width of the condutros is very minimal.
The VLF easily illustrates the location of the upper limit of dipping structures which can be seen or plotted as VLF profiles as areas of greatest change in tilt angle per unit of distance.
The instrument used for this survey was a Geonics EM-16 unit. The sensitivity of this unit is 125 for the inphase and 15i for the qua-
-4-
drature. The operating frequency for the EM-16 from 15-25 kHz and the station is made by plug-in units.
Further information on the VLF and the magnetometer can be found in the back of this report on the Technical Data and Assessment Forms.
PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
i) Magnetometer Survey:
The field data is presented on Map 101-DMg. The map is drawn at a scale of 1:5000 meters.
The magnetic data is illustrated as isomagnetic contours, contour interval 100 to 500 gammas, on a map of corrected magnetic values recorded at each station.
The magnetic trend is in a east-northeast direction. In the north side of the group, there are interruptions in the northern magnetic relief, small areas showing an intrusion or break into the east-northeast structure. These structures may be related to the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone, (see Figure le, Geological map of Kirkland Lake-Noranda area).
The large magnetic structure in the southern section of the group, is a large outcrop showing. The rest of the magnetic response occurs over south sloping hills to flat areas of creeks and beaver ponds.
Many of the magnetic responses can be directly related to topographical features indicating exposed outcrop and overburden, many of the outcrops in the field vary in height and have large cliff faces and oriented gouges which indicate extensive fault and joint systems.
The magnetic low anomalie that crosses the north side of the cliff faces in the south mountain area. This low has the same strike length of the high anomalie it mirrors. This low may prove up to be an interflow siliceous horizon or felsic intrusion.
i i) Electromagnetic Survey:
The field data is presented on the map 101-DVlf, at a scale of 1:5000, found in the back of this report.
In the detail survey eight distinctive anomalies were found.
1) Crosses PI 24E, 700 South to P129E, 735 South. This conductor is probably the outline of a large outcrop showing.
-4 a)-
FIGURE le
LS. JENSEN
F/gure 5.6. Geological map of the Kirkland Lake-Noranda area.
-5-
2) Crosses P135E, 700N to P136, 735N, the conductor is on the top of a small outcrop. Negative quadrature.
3) Crosses P129E, 615S to P125E 610S, the area is a low lying tagalder bogg. Positive quadrature.
4) Crosses P133E, 915 to P139, 10S. The area is the south side of the large outcrop showing. Positive quadrature.
5) Crosses P136E, 345S to P140E, 350S. The area is a gentle sloping hill, covered in poplar. Negative quadrature.
6) Crosses P144E, IN to P147E, 150N. The area is in a large gorge that runs north to north east. Quadrature is negative,
7) Crosses P129E, 5N to P134E, 465N. The area is low lying to a gentle slope going towards the large beaver pond on the baseline. Quadrature is negative.
8) Crosses P141E, 480N to P145E, 265N. The conductor is on the south side of the large gorge that runs through the north side of the group. Quadrature is negative.
The detail magnetometer and electromagnetic survey was run to help define the boundaries of the Destor-Porcupine Zone, in the north half of the claim group. In the south half of the group the detail grid was run to help define the origins of the low anomalie systems, running parallel with the magnetic highs, to help define areas to diamond drill.
OBSERVATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS
Parallel magnetic highs associated with magnetic lows are very important, other discovered features are magnetic lines that are broken up or intruded upon by north-south striking formations.
These north-south formations as in the break up of magnetic linears on the northern side of the group, indicate an interference such as a fault directly related to the Destor-Porcupine.
Presently an east-west grid is being planned for the north half of the group. To help define the magnetic occurrences and the origin of the VLF conductors from this survey. To also define any north-south structures coming off the Destor-Porcupine Zone.
Respectfully submitted,
March 29, 1996 Wendy K. Weller
