    1 These rates are applicable to all MJP works in the KONKAN REGION with effect from24-12-2012 .

    4 These rates are applicable to water supply and sewerage schemes andits allied works only. Items required for general construction, buildings, roads,Irrigation Works etc. shall be adopted from the current schedule of rates ofP.W.D.

    5 For works in Brihanmumbai Municipal Council Limit, the CSR of B. M. C. shall beused.

    6 For mechanical and electrical items related to water supply and sewerageschemes, CSR for 2011-2012 prepared by Superintending Engineer (Mechanical), Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran shall be adopted.

    7 Following increase in % over normal schedule of rates of M.J.P. for 2011-2012will be applicable. (Ref. PWD GR. No. DSR/1091/CR-6577/Planning-3,dated 08/07/2003)

    8. In case the area of work, lies under, the categories more than one mentioned atSr. No. 7, the higher percentage increase shall be made applicable. This additionalpercentage is only on completed item of work and not applicable to items ofproviding. If material to be supplied by departmentaly, then basic rate of suchmaterial shall be incresed by above percentage accordingly.

    9. The hilly inaccessible areas and Tribal areas shall be got confirmed from thecircular Nos.(1)1089/CR-66/Plan-19,DT.23/11/1990 and (2) 1094/P-36/K-1455dt.02/09/1994,of Planning department of Govt. Of Mahatrashtra. ( andammendment thereof ).

    This schedule of rates is based on following basic rates for importantmaterials.

    Material Rate in Rs. Per MT.

    b Mild Steel 46,000/-

    c Tor Steel 45,712/-

    d Structural Steel 48,875/-

    e M. S. Plate 49,000/-

    10. Details of standard cement consumption and standard weight of variouspipes are incorporated in this CSR .

    11. 10 % of cost of items of water retaining structures, such as GSR/ESR/MBR shall be retained till satisfactory hydraulic testing as per IS code.

    12. 10 % of cost of total sub-work of pipeline work shall be retained tillsatisfactory hydraulic testing is given as per IS code.

    13. In case of supply of pipes / valves etc. by contractor, only 85%payment shall be released after supply and 15% after satisfactoryhydraulic testing.

    14. AC / PVC pipes shall not to be used in Urban Areas.

    15. Provision for octroi charges for pipes,specials and valves is not considered inthe CSR 2010-2011. Provision of 4 % of cost of pipes ,specials and valves tobe used in corporation area shall be made while framing the estimate.

    16. For use of ready mix cement concrete, prior permission of the ChiefEngineer must be obtained.

    17. Provision for insurance of work is considered in Rate analysisn of CSR 2011-2012.

    18. Rates given in this CSR are for estimation purpose only

    19. The Sluice valves / Butterfly valves / Air valves and reflux valves (NRV) should beof approved makes of M.J.P. only.

    20. Excise duty is exempted for equipments (Gears, Motors, Tube Settles) used for W.T. P.

    21. As per notification no. 26/2009- central excisc dated 4/12/09

    a) Pipes needed for delivery of water from its source to the plant (including the cleartreated water reservoir if any thereof) and from there to the first storage point.

    b) Pipes of outer diameter exceeding 10 cm when such pipes are internal part of thewater supply projects.

    c) All the items of machinery, including instruments, apparatus and appliances, auxiliaryequipment and their components / parts required for setting up of water treatmentplants.

    22. The detailed rate analysis shall be prepared for the work of Matheran Hill station,Raigad Fort and Gharapuri Island the same shall be got approved form the concernedsuperintending Engineer.

    23. As per Govt. Circular No. DSR-1090/CR-6453/PLN-3 dated 14.7.1993 1% forlabour amenities is not considerd in the DSR except concrete item while arriving therates.

    24. As per Govt. in industries & power G. R. No. BCA-2009/CR-108/Labour 7-Adated 17.6.10 1% cess on labour welfare is not considered in the DSR while arriveingthe rates.

    25. All rates are inclusive of Royalty charges as per circular No ieewKeefve 10/1009/ He. ke. 309/Ke / dt. 11.2.2010.

    26. As per Government Notification No. 25/2012 Service tax dated 20 june 2012 pointno 12E Service tax exempted for pipeline, conduit or plant for i) Water supply. ii)Water treatment or iii) Sewerage treatment or disposal. Hence service tax is notconsiderd in rate analysis.

    27. The rates of excavation for O & M works where limited working space is availableand work is required to be carried out on emergency basis, the rate should beadopted as per the actual rate analysis which shall be approved by concerned S. E.for that particular work only.
