Comments From Interns

“The best things were the connec ons I made. I got to meet people in careers that I may be interested in.”

“This internship taught me how to take risks, like speaking up in a mee ng to suggest doing something diff erently and then watching my ideas actually become reality.”

“My supervisor was the best part of this internship. He went out of his way to make sure I experienced a wide variety of projects and departments.”

“I got to see the other side of engineering, not just the ni y-gri y hands-on stuff , but the contrac ng part. It’s not just highways and bridges.”

Forest Service supervisor Tom Gilbert (left) with interns Ethan Oliver and Dillon Schmidt working on

stream restoration.

Comments From Supervisors

“The interns really owned these projects and were able to complete them in a way that the Department likely wouldn’t have had the me or capacity to do without them!”

“Our intern not only met, but exceeded our expecta ons.”

“The applica on process was simple and provided the informa on needed for the selec on commi ee to make good choices.”

“Our intern really worked hard, helped move a number of projects forward and reduced our backlog signifi cantly.”
