1. Thermometer

Definiti : The thermometer is an instrument used to measure

the temperature (temperature),or changes in temperature.

Function : The measuring body themperature

Procedure : Put the thermometer under tongue or arm pit or anus

4. STETHOSCOPE

Definition : The stethoscope is an instrument used for auscultation, or listening to sounds

produced by the body

Function : It is used primarily to listen to the lungs, heart, and intestinal tract. It is also

used to listen to blood flow in peripheral vessels and the heart sounds of

developing fetuses in pregnant women.

Procedur : Using a stethoscope, the listener can hear normal and abnormal respiratory,cardiac, pleural, arterial, venous, uterine, fetal and intestinal sounds.

Intramuscular Injection

Definition : An intramuscular injection is an injection given directly into the central area of

a specific muscle. In this way, the bloodvessels supplying that muscle

distribute the injected medication via the cardiovascularsystem.

Function : Intramuscular injection is used for the delivery of certain drugs not

recommended for other routes of administration, for instance intravenous, oral,

or subcutaneous.

Procedur : In contrast, medication injected into muscle tissues is absorbed less rapidly and

takes effect more slowly that medication that is injected intravenously. This is

favorable for some medications.

Electrocardiography

Definition : The electrocardiography unit, also called an electrocardiograph, is an apparatus

that indirectly measures the heart's electrical activity and records it as a graphic

tracing.

Function : Electrocardiography is used to detect heart-function abnormalities

Procedur : The unit commonly includes multiple electrodes and leads (often 12, but as few

as three), a galvanometer to measure the electrical signal, an amplifier and filter

to convert the faint electrical signal to one that can be seen, a computer screen

or oscilloscope to display the output, and an ink-and-paper arrangement to

produce hard copies of the signal.

5. Incubator care

Definition : incubation care depends on ability of neonates to sustain and adopt in external

environment.

Function : incubator used of keeping and caring a neonate in incubator are

1.Maintenance of thermoneutral ambient temperature

2.Provision of desired humidity and oxygenation

3.Observation of very sick neonates4.Isolation newborn babies from infections, unfavorable external environment

and stimulations.

Procedur : Application of oil or liqud paraffins to the skin of the babies either inside the

Bandages

Definition : Bandages and dressings are both used in wound management. A bandage is a

piece of cloth or other material used to bind or wrap a diseased or injured part

of the body.

Function : Bandages can be used to hold dressings in place, and also to relieve pain and

generally make the patient comfortable.

Procedur : bandages are useful to provide ongoing pressure on varicose veins, fractured

ribs, swollen joints, etc.

6. Catheter

Definition : an instrument to take out urine, it has two kinds of chateter.This is chateter for
