Project Name: Making a better environment by recycling plastic

Project summary:

The green people from our school

decided to help save the environment by

collecting and recycling plastic bottles.

Working with surrounding

communities and local institutions these

people (students and teachers) involvedin the last year project: A Firmly NO to

the Garbage in the Streets, went on to

help people understand and learn to sort

the waste and to prevent wasting plastic

bottles by distributing leaflets,

campaigning, surveys, competitions, exhibitions.

Promoting the idea of sorting and recycling the waste we made our community

to take greater action for a better place to live in.

Project Subject:

The living conditions in ours town are getting worse and worse. Exhaust fumes and

smoke from the factories are polluting the air and trees are being cut down. Further

more, the rivers are being polluted by all dumps, especially paper and plastic bottles.

Our project is meant to decrease mostly waste dumped by people in the nearby rivers

or simply in the streets.

We are tired of meeting plastic bottles all over indifferently thrown away by all

people. We try to get people involved in recycling plastic bottles schemes knowing

that If they poison the environment, the environment will poison them.

Project Objectives:

The main aim of this project is to

make our town a better to live in by

making people aware of the

importance of sorting and recycling

plastic bottle waste.

Secondly to get school children

actively involved in protecting the

environment and become more

responsible environmental persons.

We have monitored several schoolactivities and searched for possible

solutions to our problems.

By the help of the local radio and press, meetings or campaigns, different school

activities and displays we tried and keep on trying to make our voice be heard.

Projects research

We have been working for a year to

find methods of educating school

children and people from our town

and surroundings to sort and recyclewaste.

By means of local press and radio

placing posters designed by green

students from our school in town

and neighbourhood we kept people

informed and taught them the ideal

lesson of sorting and recycling waste

which otherwise, could have been

burned or worse could have been

dumped in the vicinity of rivers or

simply dropped in the street.

Our school green team campaigned

in all neighbouring schools for the

protection of the environment by

sorting and recycling waste.

We advertised our idea all over town

and surroundings and prepared

presentations for all local schools and

other institutions to show the

importance of sorting and recycling

and how they can help.

Project action plan

We have organized clean-up campaigns for the local places such as hospital park,childrens parks, schoolyard and banks of the surrounding rivers.

With the help of our school administrator there has been prepared the sorting place.

To attract more people in the project, we contacted managers and directors of all

important institutions: hospitals, schools, churches, shops, companies and local

authorities, during campaigns and school activities.

We contacted the recycling companies in the county, that supplied us huge sacks for

the bottles.

With the help of school and local volunteers we collected plastic bottles from nearby

villages and local community.

Volunteers students crashed and filled twenty huge sacks weighing 1t of plastic

bottles.Onetz Company provided us a truck to take the sacks to the recycling factory.

We keep the campaign and try to spread it everywhere needed and whoever interested

in the whole country.

With money gained we planted 300 trees in the area.

Project results so far:

Our project is intended to stress a social,educational and environmental problem and

show an alternative way to solve it.

We are sure that this project can be heard and

applied in all surrounding villages by keeping

on campaigns and activities.

According to the surveys ordinary people

would gladly participate to our project.

We have placed special bins for collecting

plastic bottles in shops, schools, and hospitals.
