• Swimmersstillinthewaterwillbeaskedtoabandontheswimandnoofficialtimewillbegiven.

AccompanyingBoats• Throughoutthewholeevent,swimmersshouldshouldheadtowardstheroutestationeryboats,keepingtheseboatsontheirrighthandside;

• BoatsaccompanyingswimmersaretokeepthestationeryboatsontheirlefthandsideandarenevertoentertheracerouteunlesspermissionisrequestedfromtheRaceDirector;

• AllaccompanyingseacraftsaretoabidestrictlywithTransportMaltaRegulationsandtherelativeLegalNotice;

• Theswimmerwhohasaseacraft whichbreakstheseregulations,willbedisqualifiedimmediately;

FeedStations

• AFeedStationwillbeplacedapproximatelyhalfwaythroughthecourse;

• Bottledwaterwillbemadeavailabletoswimmers;• Litteringintheseaisprohibited;• SwimmersaretoensurethatbottlesaretobehandedbacktotheFeedStationboat;

• TheClubwilldoitsutmosttoensurethatnolitteringintheseawilltakeplace;

• Swimmerscaughtthrowingwaterbottlesoranyotherlitterintheseawillbegivenatwominutepenalty;

FinishGantry

• TheeventFinishshallbeatagantryplacedbytheorganizersatMarfanexttotheRamlaBayResortbeach;

• FinishingtimesarerecordedtheinstantswimmershittheFinishGantry;

TrophiesandMementos• TrophiesshallbeawardedtothefirstthreeplacesintheMaleandFemalecategories;

• TothefirstMaleandFemaleintheothercategoriesasspecifiedintheentryform;

• Allswimmerswillbegivenafinishmemento;• Swimmerswhowillnotbepresentforthepresentationceremonywillbegivenafinishingtimewhichwillnotbeconsideredintherace’sgeneralclassification;

• Thetrophywillbepresentedtothenextclassified;

SwimmingCaps

• Swimmingcapsarecompulsory;• Swimmingcapsneedtobeclearlyvisibleinthesea;• Swimmerswithout aswimmingcapwill bedisqualified;

SwimmingWetSuits

• Wet-suitsmaybeused;• Participantsplanningtouseawet-suitshallhavetheirfinishingtimerecordedbutshallnotqualifyforthefinalclassification;

• Racingsuitsandfastskins(pooloropenwater)maybeusedandparticipantswillalsoqualifyforthefinalclassification;

Disqualification• Aboatassignedbytheorganizers,shallbepatrollingandmarshallingtheevent.EventJudgeshallbeonboard;

• Onbreachingofanyrules,boatshallapproachthesaidparticipantandanimmediatedisqualificationwillbehandedout;

• DisqualifiedparticipantsaretoabandontheswimimmediatelyandboardtheRaceDirector’sboat;

• If,followingadisqualificationnotice,aswimmercontinuestheevent,theorganizersshallnotbeheldresponsibleforhissafety;Swimmershallnotbeallowedtoparticipatethefollowingyear;

Difficultiesduringtheevent

Shouldaparticipantencounteranydifficultiesduringtheevent,s/heshouldabandontheswimimmediately,anddrawtheattentionofthenearestboatoranyoftheboatspatrollingtheraceroute.

CancellationofEvent• Asfromtwodayspriortotheevent,arrangementsshallbemadebytheorganizerstobeforwardedbyexpertanalysesoftheweatherconditionsontheevent’sroute;

• Ontheeveoftheevent,adecisionwhethertheeventshallbeheldornotduetotheforecastedweatherconditions,shallbetaken.

• Shouldtheorganizersbeadvisedtocanceltheevent,theparticipantsshallbeinformedaccordinglythroughanoticeontheClubwebsitewww.bkarastjoseph.com andFacebookpage.

• Noticewillbeissuedby6.00p.m.;

CancellationofEvent(Cont.)• Shouldtheeventbecancelled,afullrefundofthepaymentsmadetotheorganizersshallbemade;

• Shouldtheweatherconditionsbeacceptable,butjellyfishareprevalentontheraceroute,itshallbeuptoeachparticipatingswimmerwhethertocompeteornot;

• Thedecisionshouldbesolelyhis/hersandtheorganizersshallnotbeheldresponsibleforanyeventualmishap;

CancellationofEvent(Cont.)

• Sinceadecisiontocancelparticipationduetojellyfishcanonlybetakenjustbeforetheevent,anapplicantshallnotbeabletoclaimarefundofthepaymentsmadetotheOrganizers;

AdvertisingMaterial

Theonlyadvertisingmaterialofacommercialnatureallowedtobeexhibitedduringtheevent,shouldbethatapprovedbytheorganizers.

InterpretationoftheseRules

TheorganizersarethesoleinterpretersoftheseRules,andalldecisionstakenbythemorontheirbehalfshallbefinal.
