About STEP SocietyThe Science Parks and similar initiatives help in creating an atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship; for active interaction

between academic institutions and industries for sharing ideas, knowledge, experience and facilities for the development of new

technologies and their rapid transfer to the end user.

Objectives

• To forge a close linkage between universities, academic and R&D institutions on one hand and industry on the other.

• To promote entrepreneurship among Science and Technology persons, many of whom were otherwise seeking jobs soon after their

graduation.

• To provide R&D support to the small-scale industry mostly through interaction with research institutions.

• To promote innovation based enterprises.

Facilities and Services Provided by STEPs

• It offers facilities such as nursery sheds, testing and calibration facilities, precision tool room/central workshop, prototype

development, business facilitation, computing, data bank, library and documentation, communication , seminar hall/conference room

, common facilities such as phone, telex, fax, photocopying. It offers services like testing and calibration, consultancy.

• Training, technical support services, business facilitation services, database and documentation services, quality assurance services

and common utility services .

Chairman’s MessageIn the post-globalization and liberalization era of Indian economy where cut throat competition,

use of cutting edge technologies and demand of quality products are the order of the day; the

modern management has no option but to manage resources optimally with the objective "to be

better than the best". The excellence in manufacturing and services is the key to out long-term

economic welfare and success. To be competitive, the Indian industry needs to maintain

international quality by cutting cost on utilities like water, steam, power, fuel, refrigeration and air-

conditioning with a cleaner and greener environment.

I am sure, addition of Management Faculty to HBTI through its Entrepreneurial Park i.e. STEP-

HBTI, would help in turning out managers having specialization in Finance, Marketing, Human

Resource. Information Technology and international Business and will assist in meeting the

objectives envisaged in advancing academic pursuits of "Management Faculty" at this Institute.

Institute ProfileScience & Technology Entrepreneurs' Park (STEP) is a project sponsored by HBTI,

Kanpur along with Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, New

Delhi.

The management programme leading to an MBA degree at STEP-HBTI is being carried

on since last 7 years. Lately, seeing a huge demand for well oriented and qualified

professionals worldwide, the Institute has increased its MBA seats from 60 to 120 in the

year 2010 & started PGDM programe in 2011, where it offers a wide spectrum of courses

which are tailor-made to meet the industry requirements. It has got all infrastructure and

facilities to impart proper training in all disciplines of specialized management

including information technology, which is the need of hour. A lush green campus, well

stocked Library, Computer lab, Cafeteria and above all an environment for learning,

makes the campus life more vibrant.

Students in MBA course are admitted by UPSEE entrance exam. College is proffered

choice of Top Rankers of UPSEE. This signifies the craze of the STEP-HBTI among

students.

For the course of PGDM students are admitted on the bases of their CAT, MAT and STEP-

MET score.
