of the old pavement on the nextphase (between Chalet andWestchester) has been removed.
o Work continues on the 21st &Kansas and the 29th & BurlingameIntersections. The intersection of21st and Kansas was closed onTuesday and detour routesposted. Complete closureexpected to last through themiddle of August.
o Work continues on SW 49thbetween Topeka Blvd and WengerRoad. Concrete was placed forboth the east and west throughlanes this week. Once thisconcrete cures, the center lane webe placed.
o Work continues on the CentralPark Neighborhood Project, Phase2.
o Work started on SE Adamsbetween 29th and 33rd this week. Road is closed but access to PostOffice will be maintained duringconstruction. Currently it can beaccessed from SE 29th.

o Work started onHuntoon/Arvonia/470 this week. An access road for the apartmentsis being constructed ahead of theplanned closure of theramp/intersection on June 4th.
o Working on alley approaches inOld Town as part of the focus area.
o Full depth pavement patchingand 2018 curb replacementunderway
Street Project Startup and MajorPhase Changes:
o SW Gage from 21st to 25thscheduled to start on June 18th.
o The intersection of 21st andKansas scheduled to be completelyclosed starting on May 29th.
o Microsurfacing scheduled tostart in June.

Sea Lion Splash
The Sea Lion Splash at the TopekaZoo is open. Three shows takeplace daily at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3p.m. A special show takes place onThursdays after the zoo has closedat 6:30 p.m. for a $5 admission. Allproceeds from that show will gotowards Camp CowabungaConstruction. Extreme temperatures can causethe ground to shift and water lines

to break. The unusually hottemperatures in May has causedsome water line breakage.
There were fifty water line breaksin the month of May with 225breaks year to date.

The Utilities Department has completed their second round of jartesting. The tests will determine the effective dosage of PowderedActivated Carbon (PAC) in the plant treatment process. PAC is usedto help control odor and taste issues in the water.
The Governing Body approved the Tax Increment Financing Policy onMay 15th. Please view the adopted policy athttps://www.topeka.org/finance/community-improvement-tax-increment-financing-districts/.
